Katie Holmes showed her allegiance to New York and her hometown heroes, the Ramones, when she showed off her unique style during a grocery run in Manhattan.

The actress and director45, was the picture of casual-cool during her leisurely stroll, wearing black pants with a matching cropped T-shirt with a photo of NY punk icons the Ramones on the front, which has been a staple of hers for years.

The former Dawson’s Creek star wore a brown cardigan that perfectly matched her leather bag and belt.

To complete her overall look, the Toledo, Ohio native wore a pair of off-white Gucci loafers and had her brunette locks styled long and wavy.

As the clouds gave way to bright sunshine, Holmes put on a pair of cool, dark sunglasses just before taking the call.

The fashionista has been seen wearing that Ramones shirt in recent years, which can be seen as a sign of respect for both the city and the band, often cited as the first true punk band.

They formed in 1974 in the New York neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, and released fourteen studio albums between 1976 and 1995.

Since Holmes moved to Manhattan in 2012, The Gift star can be considered a New Yorker with about a dozen years in the Big Apple.

The protective mother and daughter Suri, 18, made the move from Los Angeles to New York after she filed for divorce from ex-husband Tom Cruise, who is estranged from Suri, according to Page six.

Their daughter Suri was born in April 2006, followed by Tom and Katie’s wedding in November.

Holmes ultimately filed for divorce from Cruise after moving to New York in June 2012 after five and a half years of marriage.

Although neither party has publicly spoken in depth about their split, there has been talk for some time that Holmes’ motivation was to free herself and her daughter from the clutches of Scientology, as claimed by In style.

The protective mother was given primary custody of Suri during their divorce. Although Cruise was granted visitation rights, it is widely reported that he has rarely seen his daughter in the past eleven years.

The longtime Hollywood leading man found time to attend Victoria Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday party in London on Saturday, April 20, two days after his daughter’s milestone birthday.

Now that she is officially considered an adult, Cruise is no longer legally obligated to pay child support, which was $33,000 per month, which amounts to approximately $400,000 per year, plus Suri’s expenses, which include medical, education and college costs.
