The former Dawson’s Creek star looked effortlessly stylish in a navy T-shirt and wide-leg jeans.

She wore a brown leather belt around her waist and black mules.

Holmes carried a designer shoulder bag over her shoulder and held her cell phone to her ear.

The actress looked fresh-faced and her silky brown hair fell to her waist.

While they were on the phone, the mother of the 18-year-old daughter Suri crossed the street with a broad smile.

A little over a week ago, Holmes announced that she would be joining the series Poker Face.

She will guest star in the second season of the series, which will air on NBC’s Peacock streaming service.

During the big reveal on social media, she also revealed a number of other well-known actors who will be appearing as guest stars in the new season.

Giancarlo Esposito, Gaby Hoffmann and Kumail Nanjiani join the ranks.

In Poker Face, Lyonne plays the lead role of Charlie Cale, a cocktail waitress with the uncanny talent of predicting whether people are lying.

The Peacock series is a murder mystery formatted as a character-driven, weekly case-of-the-case mystery. Each episode is based on the reverse detective story format popularized by Columbo.

The series centers on Charlie Cale, “a casino employee with an innate ability to detect lies, who travels across the United States on the run from a casino boss after a suspicious death. Along the way, she meets colorful characters and solves murders in a variety of settings,” according to Wikipedia.

The show and its first 10 episodes, which premiered in January 2023, were met with critical acclaim and earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards this past January.

Lyonne starred opposite Benjamim Bratt, while the guest star roster during the first season included such notables as Adrien Brody, Ron Perlman, Chloë Sevigny, John Ratzenberger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rhea Perlman, Luis Guzmán, Ellen Barkin, Tim Meadows, Stephanie Hsu and Judith Light.

Other guest stars included Dascha Polanco, Noah Segan, Noah Segan, Hong Chau, Megan Suri, Colton Ryan, Brandon Micheal Hall, Chelsea Frei, Lil Rel Howery, Danielle Macdonald, Larry Brown, Shane Paul McGhie, Nicholas Cirillo, Chuck Cooper, John Darnielle, Reed Birney, Simon Helberg, Tim Blake Nelson and Jameela Alia Jamil.

So far, Holmes and Peacock have not revealed which character she will play in Poker Face.

Although Poker Face season 2 was greenlit in February 2023, the network has yet to confirm an official premiere date.

The Toledo-born actress is best known for her role as Joey Potter in Dawson’s Creek. Last year, she made two theater appearances, including in Ann Ziegler’s off-Broadway play The Wanderers.

She also co-wrote, directed and starred in the drama film Rare Objects, alongside Julia Mayorga, Saundra Santiago, Derek Luke and Alan Cumming.
