Katie Holmes stepped away from her usual casual chic style on Friday and appeared to try out a very different look while running errands in New York City.

New Yorkers walking past the Dawson’s Creek alum might have looked twice as they tried to recognize the woman in baggy, charcoal-colored pants with frayed hems and worn black leather ballerina flats.

The 45-year-old actress, who donned a sweater earlier in the week, took advantage of the warmer temperatures to show off a glimpse of her toned stomach by partially unbuttoning her purple and white striped shirt.

Her long, dark hair was pulled back in a loose bun and her makeup looked natural behind black-framed sunglasses.

Holmes carried a white and brown leather bag with a shoulder strap and a white shopping bag with purple lettering containing a few purchases.
