Katie Holmes attended a promotional event for her upcoming movie Rare Objects, which took place Tuesday night at 92NY in New York City.

The 44-year-old actress posed for several photos before heading into the main part of the feature, where she took part in a discussion along with the project’s producers and cast members.

The artist, who was recently spotted in the company of her daughter Suri, is currently preparing for the wide release of her third directorial effort.

Holmes wore a form-fitting white button-up shirt and matching skirt at the event.

The Thank You for Smoking actress stood out in a floral print maxi skirt with a large peek-a-boo hole at the front, and a second short pleated skirt underneath.

Rare Objects is based on Kathleen Tessaro’s 2016 novel of the same name.

Although the book is set just after the Great Depression, Holmes’ film is set in modern New York City.

The film revolves around a young woman trying to rebuild her life by working in an antique shop before various figures from her past resurface.

In addition to directing the film, the Dawson’s Creek actress co-wrote the script, served as a producer, and played a supporting role.

Artists such as Julia Mayorga, Derek Luke and Gina Jun completed the cast of the film.

“We see them both struggle with different things in their lives, but they also find the joy of life for each other and we see them support each other. I really like seeing that on screen and seeing women support each other,” she said.

Mayorga also stated that while working on set, she quickly bonded with the film’s director.

“I was super excited to work with Katie… there are so many talented people in this movie,” she said.

Rare Objects will be released both in theaters and on demand on Friday.
