Katie Couric is set to become a grandmother as daughter Ellie announced her pregnancy to her mom in a sweet video this weekend.
The journalist, 66, shared a video on Instagram of her daughter Carrie, 27, presenting her with a friendship bracelet.
The former CBS Evening News host wasn't wearing her glasses and had trouble reading the beads of letters.
“Brandy, brandy,” she said, turning the bracelet over, “B… grandma,” she said, laughing, “grandmother-to-be,” she continued, chuckling, until the words became clear.
The former Today host had a surprised look on her face but didn't quite realize what it was all about until Ellie, 32, clarified and told her: 'I'm pregnant.'

The journalist, 66, shared a video on Instagram of her daughter Carrie, 27, presenting her with a friendship bracelet that said 'Granny' – leading to Ellie, 32, announcing her pregnancy.
'You are?' she asked her giggling daughter, who answered her in the affirmative.
'Wow!' she said. “Are you panicking,” Ellie asked?
'Nooo!' Katie replied as she pointed to Carrie, who was involved in the stunt.
“You're acting so strange,” Ellie can be heard saying off camera.
Katie's husband John Molner can be heard off camera teasing her. “That 'G' must look like a 'B', right?”
The Katie Couric Media founder explained the video, which was filmed in her backyard this summer, writing, “I just wanted to tell you. This is what happens when you go to a @TaylorSwift concert last summer and forget your friendship bracelet and your daughters say, “Don't worry, we made one for you!”
She ended the post with the hashtags; '#omg #omg #omg #omg #needmy(glasses emoji)'
Ellie tied the knot with husband Mark Dobrosky on July 4, 2021. The little one will be the couple's first child and Katie's first grandchild.
