Katie Couric posted a naked photo of herself in an effort to help other “sensitive skin sufferers.”
The journalist, who attended a special screening of The Boys in the Boat with director George Clooney in New York City on Wednesday, opened up on Instagram the next day about a medical condition she has.
The 66-year-old former CBS News anchor shared a close-up of herself focusing on an uncomfortable skin problem.
The photo showed the television personality with a red and swollen eye.
“I've had eczema since I was a little girl, and as I got older it started to resurface,” she revealed, adding, “I also deal with allergic contact dermatitis.
Eczema is a skin condition that causes dry and itchy patches on the skin Cleveland Clinic.

The condition is not contagious, but can flare up if a patient comes into contact with an irritant or allergen.
Contact dermatitis occurs when the skin comes into contact with something a person is allergic to, such as soap, cosmetics, fragrances, jewelry, and poison ivy.
The Peabody Award winner who wrote, “I can't believe I let my team post this photo. Good Lord' also referred her followers to tips from Dr. Cheryl Lee Eberting, who she turned to for help.
She shared some of the doctor's tips for treating the irritating and sometimes painful condition Katie Couric Media article.
In the conversation with the doctor, Couric said that her eczema gets worse in the winter. Dr. Eberting explained, “In the winter the air gets drier and so your skin gets drier.”
“It's important to moisturize with products that strengthen your skin barrier by replacing barrier lipids,” which she said help skin retain water.
Eberting has developed a product line that she recommends to patients with sensitive skin.
Many of Couric's fans, who also suffer from eczema, chimed in with their own recommendations, including dietary changes.

The journalist referred fellow sufferers to an interview with Dr. Cheryl Lee Eberting, who she turned to for treatment, shared some of the doctor's tips for treating the irritating and sometimes painful skin condition (photo in New York in September 2022).
The former CBS News host told her followers, “This became apparent by the time I had my date with George, by the way. It just flares up a lot and it's so annoying! ❤️'
“I hate to break it to you, but cutting out gluten and dairy has solved my lifelong eczema,” one fan wrote about her experience.
“That has to do with the gut and not just sensitive skin,” wrote another.
In the comments, the reporter assured her fans that her recent outbreak was under control.
“Besides, this became apparent by the time I had my date with George. It just flares up a lot and it's so annoying! ❤️' she said.
