British tennis star Katie Boulter is on a collision course with her boyfriend Alex de Minaur and the sport’s power couple will meet at the United Cup in a clash that ‘could spell the end’ of their relationship.

Australia has found itself in a devilish group alongside defending champions the US and Great Britain for the season-opening United Cup event for mixed tennis teams.

De Minaur will lead his country when they kick off their summer campaigns in Perth, with the 18-nation competition starting on December 29 and ending on January 4.

That campaign would see the world No. 13 take on girlfriend Boulter in the mixed doubles. The pair have been dating since 2021, but have never faced each other on the field before.

“It could be the end of a beautiful relationship,” former Australia Davis Cup captain Wally Masur said during Monday’s draw in Sydney.

‘It will be interesting how it turns out because Matty Ebden and Storm Hunter are there, so we have plenty of options for the mixed doubles.

“Alex may be in a situation where he’s playing three sets against Cam Norrie and maybe it’s not in his best interest to back up and play mixed.

“But if he plays Boulter it would add some spice.”

The duo stunned the tennis world at Wimbledon this year, where they played individually and together in the doubles match.

There have been famous relationships in tennis before and there still are, most notably Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi who have been married since 2001, but Boulter and De Minaur are the sport’s new ‘IT’ couple and there is a lot interest in them since she started dating two years ago.

British rising star Katie confirmed in early 2021 that she was dating the top-ranked Australian tennis star.

On International Women’s Day, Alex made it official with a gushing Instagram post, alongside a photo of the pair sharing a warm embrace.

‘Happy International Women’s Day! I don’t mind you especially for this one,” he wrote.

Boulter said, “I think you’re doing well too” with a love heart and kissing emoji.

In the meantime, the couple regularly shares online snapshots of luxurious trips and holidays together.

Last year, Katie shared a post of the pair looking in love as they headed to Wimbledon, writing: ‘Favorite person. Favorite club.’

Earlier this summer, the power couple rented a house a stone’s throw from the All England Club while they played at Wimbledon with both families.

Boulter said the familiarity and relaxing time helped her prepare.

“We all spend a lot of time together,” she said at the time. “I have the ability to stop by whenever I want – I know where the nearest coffee shop is, where the stringers are – so this is a place I can call home.”

That exposure and understanding from a fellow elite player in De Minaur has undoubtedly helped Boulter cope with the inevitable increase in attention that has followed her over the past year.

The spotlight has continued to shine brighter given her scintillating form and emergence as a sponsor’s dream.
