Kathy Griffin files for divorce from Randy Bick – just days before celebrating what would have been their four year wedding anniversary

Kathy Griffin filed for divorce from her husband Randy Bick just days before they celebrated what would have been their four-year wedding anniversary.

TMZ has reported that Kathy filed divorce papers in Los Angeles County on Thursday.

She cited irreconcilable differences and stated in the documents that she has a prenuptial agreement with Randy. She has asked the court to enforce the prenuptial agreement.

As news of their split circulated online, Griffin responded on X, formerly Twitter, writing, “Well…sh*t. This sucks.”

The stated separation date is December 22, less than two weeks before the couple would have celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Griffin for comment.

Griffin and Bick had a long road down the aisle, dating for seven years starting in 2011, until they briefly brought the curtain down on their romance in 2018.

“God help me, but I will be one of those people who announces a breakup,” she tweeted at the time. “It is not bitter and I will always adore it.”

During their first seven-year stint as a couple, Griffin saw her career implode in early 2017 due to a viral image of her holding a severed head doll of Donald Trump, who was then the newly inaugurated President of the United States.

According to Griffin, the scandal also brought some turbulence to Bick's personal life, as his family were supporters of the president.

“My boyfriend, who I live with and he's also my tour manager, you know, his family is struggling with him right now… they're Trumpers,” Griffin said.

She said Entertainment tonight years later that she and Bick “took a little break” for four months around the time of the controversy.

'And now we have just come to the conclusion that we have really been through so much together. We have been together for over eight years now,” she reflected in 2019.

“Even though he's 19 years younger, we both turned to each other and realized that this is the longest relationship for both of us, you know? We have to fight for it and make it work. And you know, it was just one of those things where there was a lot of pressure.”

After their brief split in 2018, they got back together in 2019 and were married on New Year's Day 2020 by comedy icon Lily Tomlin.

Two months later, Bick saw Griffin again through a period of personal turmoil when her beloved mother Maggie died at the age of 99.

Over the years, Griffin and Bick's relationship has occasionally drawn ridicule due to the fact that he is nearly twenty years younger than her.

She noticed it herself in 2016 People magazine: 'Well, you know I didn't think it would last [because] he's 18 years younger than me!'

Although she initially labeled the marketing manager a “man whore,” assuming their one-night stand wouldn't go any further.

However, she eventually discovered that he was 'a real man' rather than 'a Hollywood man', and a real bond developed between them.

The end of her marriage to Bick marks Griffin's second divorce – she was previously married to a man named Matthew Moline from 2001 to 2005.

After her first marriage failed, she went on Larry King Live and sensationally accused Moline of stealing $72,000 from her by stealing her debit cards while she slept.

Although Griffin and Moline attempted to reconcile after their initial split, Griffin insisted they “couldn't get around the trust issue.”

Moline itself issued a statement, read by King on air, which said: “Since our divorce, I have not made any public comments about my ex-wife or our marriage. I'm sorry she chooses to make such accusations at this time. I have no intention of entering into a public debate about private matters.'
