Katherine Jenkins looks in high spirits at Wimbledon as she joins David Beckham and husband Andrew Levitas in the Royal Box following OBE drama

Katherine Jenkins was reunited with David Beckham at Wimbledon on Monday, seven years after their OBE drama.

The 44-year-old singer looked stylish as she joined her husband Andrew Levitas in All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in south-west London before settling in the Royal Box.

For the outing, she was placed directly behind David, but the pair were not pictured interacting.

The 49-year-old footballer is said to have criticised Katherine in a series of leaked emails published in February 2017, including one email addressed to his PR manager.

One is reported to have said: ‘Katherine Jenkins OBE for what? Singing at rugby, going to the troops and doing coke. F****** joke.’

The opera star was awarded an OBE in 2014 for services to various charities and her travels to war zones to entertain the troops.

The hacked emails also made accusations about his stance in the Scottish referendum and his investments in loss-making companies to reduce his tax bill.

David’s representatives rejected the claims, stating that the emails were “hacked and manipulated” from a private account.

A spokesperson said: ‘This story is based on outdated material taken out of context from hacked and forged private emails from a third party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture.’

Katherine and David are said to have been at odds with each other years earlier, when she denied on Twitter in 2012 that she had had an affair with him. The English star player was reportedly furious about that.

In 2018, Katherine claimed she was still waiting for an apology from the sports star.

Katherine admitted she has no reason to be anything other than proud of her achievements as she spoke about the shocking comments David made to her.

She explained: ‘You just mind your own business and get caught up in this huge storm. You just think, ‘Oh, I didn’t do anything.’ It wasn’t nice to get caught up in that. I don’t know why, again, that was directed at me.’

‘I don’t feel the need to defend this either. I know what I did and when I got the OBE, I got it for music and for a good cause.’

When asked if she was angry with David for his alleged comments, Katherine added: “It’s obviously disappointing. I never heard anything about it.”

Despite their past, Katherine and David looked good at Wimbledon.

Katherine looked stylish as she teamed an Edeline Lee top (£495) with matching trousers (£715), adding a pop of colour with purple Manolo Blahnik shoes (£695).

Meanwhile, David arrived at the tennis match dressed in a custom-made Boss beige, single-breasted, all-canvas suit, which he paired with a blue cotton shirt.

He and his mother Sandra were invited to sit in the Royal Box to watch British star Emma Radacanu play. She played her first match in two years at the tournament, taking on Russian wildcard player Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Later he will watch Spanish superstar Carlos Alcaraz take on World 262 qualifier Mark Lajal.

A friend of Beckham told MailOnline: ‘David and his mum look forward to their day out at Wimbledon, they try to go every year.

“It’s so nice to see Emma Radacanu on the first day, who David is a big fan of, and also Alcaraz.

‘David is so close to Sandra, they have a very special bond and he is always excited about the day, but this year it is the first of many festivities during the week.

‘David and Victoria have some very moving things planned for this week. It’s going to be one of the most special moments of their lives.’

They weren’t the only VIPs in attendance as David Attenborough, Jamie Cullum, Katherine Jenkins and Alexander Armstrong were also in attendance.

Last month it was announced that David has moved one step closer to obtaining the title of ‘Sir’ after charming King Charles with his charity work.

And so it seemed like no time was wasted asking for tips on how to retain the title when he was spotted hobnobbing with national treasure David.

David’s performance came just weeks after he was officially recognised by the King as an ambassador for his charity.

When his appointment was announced, the former England captain said he was “thrilled” to have been chosen for the prestigious role at the King’s Foundation, after meeting with the King at his beloved Highgrove Estate.

He is the first ambassador appointed by the charity since Charles was crowned. This appointment will undoubtedly fuel speculation that Beckham’s long-held dream of being knighted could finally become a reality.

David said of his new role: “I am delighted to be working with the King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work.

‘I have always wanted to help young people broaden their horizons, so I look forward to supporting the foundation’s educational programs and its efforts to increase youth access to nature.’

The charity, founded in 1986 when Charles was Prince of Wales, is run from Dumfries House in Scotland. It aims to support ‘sustainable communities’ and runs educational courses for young people, often with a focus on rural skills.

As ambassador, David will raise awareness of the charity by supporting campaigns and attending events, including the upcoming King’s Foundation Awards.
