Kate Winslet and Richard E Grant set to appear on CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories

Kate Winslet will tell a story celebrating teamwork and friendship as she leads a great lineup appearing on CBeebies Bedtime Stories throughout the holiday season.

The 47-year-old Academy Award winner joins a host of big names ready to deliver a bedtime story for youngsters, appearing alongside actor Richard E Grant and boxer Anthony Joshua.

In her episode, which will air on December 19, Kate will read Sarah McIntyre’s Grumpycorn, which tells the story of a unicorn who wants to write the world’s most fabulous story, but has no ideas.

Meanwhile, Anthony will also appear on the BBC’s children’s show on December 22, just three days before Christmas Day.

The boxing star, 33, will read Ezra Jack Keats’ The Snowy Day in the run-up to Christmas, about a boy named Peter who puts on his snowsuit and steps out of his home into a world covered in snow.

Peter was one of the first African-American characters to appear in a major children’s book when it was published in 1962.

Happy: She will be joined by Oscar-nominated actor Richard E Grant, who will read Benji Davies’ The Snowflake on December 23.

Keats’ illustrations helped pave the way for more inclusive and diverse children’s literature, the BBC said.

It tells the story of a polar bear who has a new job as a guardian of the moon and shares messages about friendship, impermanence and nature.

Sports star: Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua will also appear on the BBC’s children’s show on December 22, reading Ezra Jack Keats’ The Snowy Day.

Meanwhile, on World Braille Day (January 4), Paralympian Lora Fachie will return to CBeebies Bedtime Story to read Menena Cottin’s The Black Book of Colors, in braille.

The story is about experiencing a rainbow of colors through the senses of touch, taste, smell or hearing.

In recent years, a host of big names have offered their storytelling skills to the CBeebies Bedtime Stories series, including actor Tom Hardy, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, and singer Harry Styles.

CBeebies Bedtime Stories will air at 6:50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
