Kate Ritchie proved she has just a little bit of the stage mom gene when she shared a photo of her daughter performing on Monday.

The actress and radio host, 43, was busy snapping photos while her eight-year-old daughter Mae posed on stage at a local festival.

Kate knelt in front of her daughter and her friend and took pictures of the radiant couple on her phone.

“Proud mama does what proud mamas do,” she wrote in her caption alongside the image.

It comes after Kate said she won’t be encouraging Mae to follow in her footsteps, and instead wants her to follow her own path in life.

Kate, who rose to fame playing Sally Fletcher in Home and Away, told Australian women’s magazine she will not push her child “in any direction.”

“Everyone at Home and Away thought I only worked part-time and everyone at school thought I had the best job in the world because I had to leave school early,” she said.

“But put all that together and it’s a bit full!” I just want to make sure I’m not pushing Mae in any direction. I don’t want her to think she belongs to anyone but herself.’

Kate said her daughter, who she shares with ex-husband Stuart Webb, has already expressed interest in starting a YouTube channel, which she says will “never happen.”

While not encouraging her vlogging career, she is eager for Mae to pursue extracurricular activities that she enjoys.

“I encourage her to try lots of different things. She dances on Saturdays, does gymnastics and swims,’ she said.
