She recently praised her daughter Mae, eight, for giving her a sense of “purpose and strength.”

And Kate Ritchie, 44, had Mae by her side on Saturday as she hit Sydney’s eastern suburbs to promote her latest project, a children’s activity book called Everyday Play.

The former Home and Away star looked stylish in a navy blue button-down shirt, flare jeans and heels as she arrived at the event at Harry Hartog bookseller in Bondi Junction Westfield.

Her brunette hair was tied in a ponytail and she added a touch of glamor to her look with a classy gold necklace and earrings, as well as a Louis Vuitton handbag.

Earlier this month, Kate opened up about motherhood after her stint in rehab for alcohol problems.

The experienced actress told The Sunday Telegraph her daughter Mae, eight, gives her “purpose” and “strength.”

“Mae gives me incredible purpose and strength and she’s one of the few people who really let me be myself. Nothing more or less,’ she said.

‘I’m just her mama and that’s why she loves me. In fact, if I’m being honest, as she gets older she’s also teaching me that I deserve love.’

The star went on to say it was a “big year — a big number of years.”

It comes after Kate recently reconsidered her decision to seek professional help following her drunk driving charge in August.

In December, Daily Mail Australia broke the news that Ritchie had entered an exclusive private mental health facility in Sydney to help her treat her alcohol addiction.

The former Home and Away star told The Sunday Telegraph that after struggling with several personal challenges last year, she decided it was time to get help.
