Kate Moss and her half-sister Lottie are no longer close, a family source has told MailOnline.
The relative admitted that the once close brother-sister relationship has cooled considerably, saying: “There was a time when they were much closer.”
But they insisted that they don’t want to talk about the sisters’ feelings for each other in public, but that they should discuss any issues privately within the family.
It comes after Lottie – who followed her older sister into a modeling career – got emotional while discussing her relationship with the fashion legend on Celebs Go Dating.
Speaking to the show’s new sex guru, Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, of her half-sister, 49, revealed that they were ‘constantly compared’, leading to feelings of abandonment and a reluctance to show ‘the real Lottie’.

These comments come just weeks after Lottie similarly revealed, “My sister and I have never been close. There is a big age difference. She doesn’t have to want to have a relationship with me. When I was younger I couldn’t understand it.’
Kate’s parents are former barmaid Linda Rosina Moss and former airline employee Peter Moss, who lived with their daughter in Croydon, South London. They divorced when she was 13 years old, but her father has remained close to her all her life.
Her half-sister Lottie, 25, is from Peter’s second marriage to Swedish model Inger.
The source, who is close to Peter and Inger, said the couple were not happy with these very public comments: “It’s not clear why Lottie has chosen to speak out about her relationship with Kate and to be honest, it is a bit baffling to them.
“Peter and Inger never talked about Kate, and she never talked about her family life. They don’t understand why Lottie is coming out with all this stuff.’

“As far as they’re concerned, there’s no rift between Kate and Lottie. They don’t understand why this is being made such a big deal and feel it has been blown out of proportion.
“There’s a huge age difference between Kate and Lottie, they come from different generations and very different people.”

The source added: “There’s nothing more to it. There are always some things between siblings, but this is not so serious. Peter and Inger have no plans to intervene or bring the two girls together, as there is nothing important to resolve. It’s just normal family business that doesn’t need to be talked about.’
The source revealed that Kate attended Lottie’s 21st birthday party in January 2019 with the rest of the family also attending, and that the two women also got together for Christmas and other celebrations.
Lottie got her first break as a model in 2011 when she was a bridesmaid at Kate’s wedding to musician Jamie Hince.
After photos of the wedding were published in Vogue, she went on to shoot campaigns for Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and D&G.
However, after experiencing a dark side of modeling where her life was “controlled”, Lottie decided to quit in 2021 and try OnlyFans where she revealed that everyone is “positive and nice” and that she feels empowered by her sexual side.
Being the sister of an icon, she admitted that “nothing would ever be as good as what she’s done,” which made her feel redundant.
She said, “Every house I go to has some kind of Kate Moss poster, a Kate Moss book, Kate Moss Diet Coke can, and everyone brings her up. For a long time I felt that nothing I did would ever be as good as what she did.
“I can’t beat that, so what’s left for me?”

She previously stated that after talking to others around her, she has come to understand that “family is complicated” and that just because of Kate’s status, it doesn’t make their situation any different.
She said, “We just disagree on a lot of things. I love her. She’s my sister, but we’re just not close. It is what it is.’
Kate has always maintained a mysterious presence, refusing to speak about her personal life in public and thus never discussing her relationship with Lottie.
It comes after Lottie confirmed she’s in a relationship with co-star Adam and dismissed rumors that she’s been sleeping with married father-of-three Spencer Matthews in a conversation about dating.
The model and the Love Island, 27, met after signing up for the latest series of Celebs Go Dating in July, and she has now revealed they have a ‘special bond’.
During an appearance on Chloe Burrows’ podcast “Chloe Vs The World,” Lottie discussed their relationship and admitted that Adam was “very charming.”
The reality star also dismissed claims that she had ‘hooked in with’ former Made in Chelsea star Spencer, 34, at Jamie Laing’s wedding in Spain in May, after gossip videos circulated widely online.
Lottie told her Celebs Go Dating co-star Chloe, “When I first saw Adam I was like, ‘No, he’s not my type. Literally not my type at all’ and then bam.”
