Kate Middleton’s favourite dressmaker Alice Temperley faces backlash after ‘justifying’ Hamas attacks on Israel in now-edited Instagram post saying Palestinians want ‘revenge’ for being ‘trapped in massive prison with constant kidnapping and bombardment’

The Princess of Wales’s favorite seamstress has been accused of trying to “justify” Hamas attacks on Israel in a now-edited Instagram post in which she said Palestinians wanted “revenge” for being “locked in a huge prison.”

Alice Temperley MBE took to Instagram on Saturday to share her thoughts on the conflict between Israel and Hamas, which began on October 7 when the terror group crossed the border and massacred 1,400 Israelis.

In the post, Ms. Temperley said that “the West helped create Hamas after decades of torment and destruction in Gaza.”

She continued: “If you blow up children and their relatives and lock them up in a huge prison with constant kidnappings and bombings, then of course they will seek revenge and become very angry (as I would be in their position)

‘No freedom, no rights and now genocide that threatens 2.2 million people who are denied aid, food and water.’

The designer’s post received a wave of criticism, with one follower asking: ‘Are you seriously suggesting that Hamas was somehow justified in brutally raping, murdering and kidnapping women and small children two weeks ago? Shame on you indeed.”

In response to one of her critics, she wrote: “If someone came and cut your child into pieces, you would want revenge – that’s all I’m saying… I understand how the seventy years have caused this.”

Ms Temperley later edited her original Instagram post to include a condemnation of all acts of violence.

She wrote that she was “heartbroken for the innocent lives lost on both sides of yet another tragic, unimaginable war.”

The designer added that she “empathized with both sides” and “didn’t agree with acts of violence.”

In a criticism on the BBC, the signatories said: “We ask the media, members of all political parties and everyone in public life to call Hamas out for what it is: a terrorist organization.”

After a group calling itself Artists for Palestine UK, including actors Steve Coogan and Tilda Swinton, published a letter accusing Israel of war crimes without condemning the Hamas-led attacks, Dame Maureen issued a scathing response to the “bleeding heartless Liberals ‘

She said: ‘These bleeding heart, heartless liberals care so much about the Palestinians… that they embrace their cause at the expense of all the other oppressed people in the world… Shame. Shame. Shame on you all.”

The October statement, which was also signed by the actress, describes a 651 percent increase in the number of recorded anti-Semitic incidents since Hamas launched its murderous attack on October 7, and the sad spectacle of the forced closure of Jewish schools.
