Kate Middleton’s best Alexander McQueen outfits after designer who created her wedding dress steps down from the brand

The Princess of Wales‘s wedding dress designer is leaving Alexander McQueen after more than twenty years.

Sarah Burton became creative director of the fashion house in 2010 after first joining the company in 1996.

The brand praised her “exceptional vision and creativity” as it confirmed the spring/summer 2024 show in Paris on September 30 would be her last.

Ms Burton said: “I am so proud of everything I have done and my incredible team at Alexander McQueen. I look forward to the future and my next chapter and will always carry this precious time with me.’ Her departure has led to speculation that she might set up her own label.

She created an intricate ivory wedding gown with an 8-foot train that Kate wore in 2011 – and Ms Burton became one of the Princess’s favorite designers.
