Kate Middleton sports a bandaged hand again weeks after injuring her fingers on a trampoline… and it’s not the first time she’s had to wear plasters

She is known as the epitome of elegance with her impeccable ensembles, bouncy blow-dry and perfectly manicured nails.

But it seems the Princess of Wales, 41, is prone to the occasional injured hand, as she regularly appears to have a band-aid wrapped around one or two fingers.

Today Kate wore bandaged fingers again as she met Disability Rugby League players in Hull – just three weeks after injuring her hand while trampolining with her children.

While visiting a men’s prison in Surrey last month to support an addictions charity, it was revealed the mother-of-three had hurt her hand while at home with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis ( 5) played.

It is far from the first time the royal family has worn a patch. Kate’s otherwise flawless image is often marred by the unsightly skin-colored tape wrapped around one of her fingers or thumbs.

During a visit to the maternity ward at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford on October 5, 2022, the princess was pictured with a plaster on her thumb. She was seen wearing similar ones in Bradford in 2020.

The princess also wore a plaster on her thumb as she attended the Thanksgiving service celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee at St Paul’s Cathedral on June 3, 2022 in London.

In May 2019, Kate wore a small patch on the right royal thumb at the Chelsea Flower Show – matching it seamlessly with her camel culottes and cream shirt.

Then in November 2019, a small round spot was visible on the middle finger of her right hand during three events over four days.

Christmas Day 2016, and what covers that end of one thumb on the same hand as her famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring? A plaster of course.

Then there was the time in November of the same year when she wore a larger rectangular patch on the back of her left hand.

There was much speculation at the time as to whether a particular feline in the spotlight was to blame; namely the star of A Street Cat Named Bob, who Kate had met the night before at a movie premiere.

For those who have debated the merits of cloth (they stay in place better) over waterproof (tendency to peel but more versatile) patches, it should be noted that Kate appears to show no preference and wears both.

As we all know, Kate is an avid gardener, so it’s very easy for her to have an accident while pruning. Her injury weeks ago is said to have occurred after playing on the trampoline with her three children at their Windsor home.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said the injured finger was “a minor injury, nothing serious”, adding that they were not broken.

She was pictured back in 2008 leaving the exclusive Bouji nightclub in London with a plaster on her right thumb.

Although Kate has been opting for smart suits more and more lately, today she wore her navy blue Rugby League polo shirt and track pants with white trainers instead.

The royal family took part in a training session facilitated by members of the World Cup-winning England Wheelchair Rugby League squad during Rugby League Inclusivity Day.

Despite the casual attire, Kate still brought the glamor with perfectly coiffed hair and a beautiful makeup look.

Kate made sure she could stay hands-on despite her injury, jumping into the wheelchair and playing wheelchair rugby, looking completely in her element.
