Known for her love of high street brands, Kate regularly wears Zara pieces and mixes affordable labels with designer pieces.
The princess has been a longtime fan of the Zara trademark and often steps out in pieces from the Spanish retailer for royal events.
The houndstooth print is a favorite of the royals, and they regularly opt for different pieces featuring the pattern.
Choosing to wear the usually demure Duchess’s bold print could also be seen as a nod to Princess Diana.
In today’s occasion, Kate rocked a glam makeup with pink lipstick and dark smoky eyes, and she tied her hair behind her shoulders for the occasion.
In the first engagement of the day, Kate and William visited the Brynawel Rehabilitation Center to hear first-hand about the work they do to help those struggling with the effects of drug and alcohol addiction.
Arriving at the centre, they were greeted by Sue Gwyn, Chief Executive, Manager Grace Sansom and Welsh Government Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing Lynne Neagle.
During the visit, the couple spoke with clients and their families to learn how the current garden facilities and outdoors are used as part of their therapy.
The couple will also see plans for new therapy allotments and a garden being created thanks to support given to social enterprise Life at No.27 by The Royal Foundation as part of its ‘community impact’ pilots.
Over time, Life at No.27 intends to create six therapy and garden allocations across South Wales that will provide mental health support to local communities.
As part of this, the Prince and Princess viewed the site being developed and met with organizations providing funding and in-kind support, as well as representatives from Life at No.27.

When leaving the center, the couple will spend some time meeting the public gathered outside.
The final engagement of the day will see the couple visit the headquarters of the Welsh Air Ambulance.
During the visit, the couple will meet emergency workers, volunteers and supporters and hear about their recent operations in Wales.

Then, they will officially open a new family room that has been designed by a bereaved family who lost their father in a tragic traffic accident.

The Prince of Wales also previously served as an air ambulance and search and rescue helicopter pilot for the RAF.

Kate, 41, a sponsor of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the Rugby Football League (RFL), and Prince William, 40, a sponsor of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) since 2016, appeared in high spirits at the match.
But it was Kate who has bragging rights after her team won against their rivals, with England beating Wales 20-10 as the final siren blew.
The famously competitive royal couple were in the stands at the Principality Stadium to cheer on their respective teams in their Six Nations tie.
In a message on Twitter translated into English and Welsh this afternoon, the pair said: ‘What a great rugby half! Bring the next 40 minutes.
