Kate Hudson’s missing Vera Wang wedding coat is found in old STORAGE UNIT by a total stranger – ending the actress’s desperate 17-YEAR search for the garment she wore to marry her ex-husband Chris Robinson
Kate Hudson is finally reunited with her Vera Wang wedding gown from her wedding to Chris Robinson – 17 years after it went missing.
The 44-year-old actress wore the specially designed coat in 2000 when she married the Black Crowes singer. However, the couple split in 2007 and the jacket seemed to have disappeared – until now.
It wasn’t until second-hand enthusiast Chris Damone bought a storage unit at a New York auction for $2,000 that the white fur coat was rediscovered, hidden within its contents.
When Chris, from New Windsor, opened the storage room, he found the garment bag with Kate Hudson written on the label saying ‘Made to Order Vera Wang.’

However, he said it “didn’t even occur to him” that it was the How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days actress.
“I just assumed someone had the same name,” he admitted Insider.
However, he was curious and looked up the address on the card. He discovered it was the same as a property Kate used to own in Manhattan.
The man showed it to his cousin Lucille Damone, who runs a vintage clothing store called Galipette Vintage in New York’s Hudson Valley and has expertise in the fashion industry.
Lucille recognized that it looked like a bridal piece, and after Googling “Kate Hudson wedding,” she came across photos of the actress and Chris on their wedding day.
To her surprise, she discovered that the photos of Kate – who married Chris in Aspen in 2000 – showed her in a white coat identical to the design her cousin had unearthed in the storage room.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Chris marveled. “Me and Lucille were beyond excited that we had found something so unique and special.”
Lucille agreed, saying she had “all the feels” when they found out who the jacket belonged to.
“I was shocked, excited and amazed,” she said. “As a vintage dealer, part of the absolute pleasure of my job is finding the pieces.”

The vintage expert also praised the design, a unique piece created especially for the actress’ special day.
“It’s made of the absolute softest fur I’ve ever felt,” she said, describing the coat. “(It) has a shawl collar and a dramatic train.”
Chris and Lucille found the jacket a year ago, but earlier in October they were able to contact Kate to inform her of what they had found.
“I reached out to quite a few people who could possibly contact her to let her know I had her jacket, but apparently the messages never reached her,” Chris explained.
They eventually found the Something Borrowed actress through another vintage clothing seller, Cherie Federau, and were able to tell her that they had her jacket — which she had been searching for for nearly two decades.
“It turns out she’s been looking for this coat since 2006, and she was really excited to get it back,” Chris said.

“I am honored to be part of this full circle moment and return it to its rightful owner, Kate,” she said. “I’m sure it will be an emotional moment for her.”
Kate was married to Chris Robinson from 2000 before calling it quits in 2006.
The couple have a son Ryder, 19. Kate also shares a 12-year-old son Bingham with her ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy, who she dated from 2010 to 2014.
Kate is currently engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa, who she started dating in 2016, and the pair share a daughter, Rani Rose, five.
