Kate Hudson confessed she has an unusual hygiene habit with her former co-star Matthew McConaughey.
The 45-year-old Bride Wars star admitted that neither she nor McConaughey, 54, wore deodorant during their appearance on Wednesday’s episode. Watch live what’s happening.
“We’re au naturel, you know?” she told host Andy Cohen, after he asked her if it was true that she forced the actor to wear deodorant during the filming of their 2008 romantic comedy Fool’s Gold.
“No! He doesn’t wear deodorant,” she replied, before adding, “And by the way, neither do I.”
The actress also revealed that McConaughey has a strong odor, saying she could “smell him from a mile away.” [away].

The Interstellar star previously addressed his deodorant stance in a 2008 interview with Playboy, saying that Hudson hinted that he needed to do something about his body odor.
“She always carries a salt rock, which is a natural deodorant, and says, ‘Would you please put this on?'” he said. “I’ve never worn it. No cologne, no deodorant.”
McConaughey added, “The women in my life, including my mother, have all said, ‘Hey, your natural scent smells, first of all, like a man and, second of all, like you.'”
Despite using anti-deodorant, Matthew insisted he took his personal hygiene seriously, claiming he showered multiple times a day and brushed his teeth up to five times a day.
He just doesn’t like smelling like anyone or anything else.
The Oscar winner first expressed his distaste for deodorant in his 2005 Sexiest Man Alive profile, in which he said People that he had not used it for ’20 years’.
In 2021, Matthew’s hygiene habits came up again when his Tropic Thunder co-star Yvette Nicole Brown discussed his unique scent.
She recalled, “I remember Matthew McConaughey saying he didn’t wear deodorant and he didn’t have any scent. So my first thought was, ‘I’m going to get as close to him as I can to see if he’s right.'”
“He doesn’t have a smell. He smells like granola and good life. He has a sweet, sweet smell. That’s just him, and it’s not musty or weird.”

“The only thing that matters is the script and whether Matthew and I like the script,” she said. “I think we’re both very open to it, it’s just never happened.”
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was a huge success, grossing $177.5 million at the box office, more than tripling its $50 million budget.
The film is inspired by a non-narrative book of the same name, full of comical rules about things to avoid while dating.
McConaughey plays an advertising executive who bets he can make any woman fall in love with him. His plan backfires when the woman he chooses, a writer, wants to write a story about how she got her boyfriend to break up with her.
The duo reunited last year to celebrate the romantic comedy’s 20th anniversary, catching up virtually via a video chat they posted on Instagram, where they reflected on the film.
The topic turned to their sparkling chemistry in the film, which led to them declaring that they “kiss nicely” when on screen.
The Almost Famous actress admitted that her fans asked “all the time” what it was like to share a kiss with the True Detective star in their 2003 film.
My whole thing is that we’re always in strange environments [when we kiss on screen]. It’s never like… there was only one time we kissed that it was so sweet and tender, in the bathroom,” she said, laughing, via People.
“Yeah, everything else is not climate-controlled,” Matthew replied jokingly. “Everything else was like, ‘Swim up, the sharks almost ate you, you just fell out of a plane 300 feet, keep treading water and before you catch your breath, you’re kissing.'”

“But, with respect to our current partners, we do kiss properly. It was always a really nice kiss,” she explained, while Matthew “absolutely” agreed with her.
