Kate Hudson has starred in more than her share of romantic comedies, but she admitted that it's becoming increasingly difficult to find male co-stars.
The 44-year-old actress and daughter of screen legend Goldie Hawn has starred in popular rom-coms such as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, Bride Wars and Fool's Gold.
She appeared on Thursday's episode of The View and admitted that it's becoming difficult to convince male movie stars to star in rom-coms.
'It's hard to get male movie stars to make rom-coms. That's a big part of the equation too, to have that event,” she said.
“And so, as long as we can get more Marvel guys into a rom-com, I think that's a big part of the formula as well,” she admitted.

When asked why Marvel movie stars wouldn't appear in rom-coms, Hudson reiterated her point: “I think it's about the writing.”
“And how we invest in the storytelling, the writing and the directors,” she continued.
“If you look at the classic rom-coms or the movies that last forever — because they last forever, they're the ones that last forever and people go back and forth — they had the best writers,” Hudson said.
“So I think it's more about the way the studios invest in the talent,” Hudson said, joking that she's going to do a MasterClass on rom-coms.”
When asked why How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days still resonates twenty years later, Hudson admitted that the film was “well written,” with a script by Kristen Buckley, Brian Regan and Burr Steers, based on Michele's book Alexander and Jeannie Long.
“I think there's kind of a misconception that a romcom should have a certain formula… there's a formula that works, but it also starts with the writing,” she said.
Other rom-coms in which Hudson has starred include My Best Friend's Girl, Something Borrowed and Mother's Day.
She also recently opened up about her budding music career during an episode of The Today Show.

The star, who sang in the film Nine and TV show Glee, said she performed a mini concert of covers in Colorado during her annual holiday with her family.
“It was very vulnerable to sing in front of a very small girl, I had never sung in such an intimate space before and it was a very small place and it was very brutal and very good for me,” she told Savannah Guthrie. Today.
