Kate Hudson, 45, talks about having three children with three different men… which is not too different from what her mom Goldie Hawn did

Kate Hudson spoke candidly about her ‘patchwork family’ and how she managed to have three children with three different men on Thursday.

The How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days star has sons Ryder, 20, with Chris Robinson, Bingham, 12, with Matt Bellamy and daughter Rani, 5, with Danny Fujikawa.

The 45-year-old actress — who recently revealed why she was afraid to pursue a music career 20 years after becoming a movie star — explained that her blended family is much more harmonious and blended than you might think.

“We’re very connected, and we’re very close,” the Something Borrowed star shared People. ‘Love can change form. It’s interesting if you have a modern family; there is so much love for all the children.’

“I think what’s unique about my life is that in this patchwork family, we all have it figured out… The kids feel like they have a huge family,” she added.

Interestingly enough, her mother Goldie Hawn did something similar: she had three children by two different men. Kate and her brother Oliver have father Bill Hudson, while she had Wyatt with Kurt Russell.

The blonde beauty is currently engaged to Rani’s father, 37-year-old musician Danny Fujikawa, and warmly co-parents with her exes: Ryder’s father, Chris Robinson, 57, and Bingham’s father, Matt Bellamy, 45.

She even admitted that she maintains good relationships with her ex’s new partners and their children.

Sometimes she even babysits Bellamy’s almost four-year-old daughter Lovella when he and his wife ask her to.

“I’m like, ‘Yeah, come on, bring her here,’” the starlet said. “And I sit with all the kids and I think, I’m so happy that we have a real family unit that’s big. It is beautiful.

‘Everyone is open to it and understands that this is the most mature thing for the children. And you can see it in them: they feel loved, they feel protected, they feel safe,” she said.

The Bride Wars actress admitted that she inherited her parental murders from her own mother and father Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, who raised her from a young age.

“Their strongest value is their commitment to that unity. They’ve been through everything together, and it’s so wonderful to see, especially as they get older, how beautiful their relationship is,” she shared.

“It’s so loving and caring. They got stuck with it. It seems like a very rare Hollywood story. They’re in there forever. It’s wild,” she continued.

The multihyphenate – who is preparing to release her debut album Glorious on May 17 – said a common theme throughout her album is love and the different forms it comes in.

“I was like, ‘This is just a loved life,’” she said, looking back at her album’s completed track list.

“Through all the highs and all the lows, and then all the things that come with what it is to love a spouse, your friends, your children… What a glorious thing to have that much love,” she finished.

‘It’s really fun. I really enjoy it. The writing process was the most important and cathartic for me,” she told the outlet.

“Music was my first love,” Hudson admitted, “It really has been a lifetime in the making.”
