It was a case of, when in Britain, do as the British do for Kate Beckinsale as she visited an affluent suburb in southwest London with her mother on Monday.
The actress and her mother Judy Loe went for lunch in leafy Chiswick. Instead of visiting the finer restaurants, the couple opted for a delicious chicken meal at a local Nandos.
Kate, 51, stood out in a floral print summer dress and knee-high leather boots as she documented their day out in a series of posts on Instagram.
The pair also visited Marks & Spencer, where they browsed the shelves in search of Skips and Quavers, before returning to their car, where a parking ticket was waiting for them.
Kate, who spends a lot of time in Los Angeles, wrote under her posts: ‘Going through Chiswick with my mum relaxes my solar plexus. And we have Quavers and Skips too. Watch out, America.’

The actress, who turned 51 on July 26, has alarmed fans with her recent weight loss after releasing weeks in hospital with a stress-related tear in her esophagus following the death of her stepfather, Roy Battersby.
Mother Judy, a respected TV and film actress, is also battling stage four cancer.
“I think people go through things in life and we all go through difficulties. I’ve been very open about that,” she told the Ny Breaking’s Richard Eden at the Summer Gala by Gala One at the Golf Club Saint-Tropez.
‘I have been mainly concerned with my mother and she is doing well.’
Kate, the daughter of late Porridge and Rising Damp star Richard Beckinsale, was disappointed by guests who drowned her out when she tried to talk about the charity’s initiatives.
She screamed, “Since none of you are f*****g listening, I can just talk to myself.”
Earlier this month, she revealed her weight loss was due to the “stress and grief” of her stepfather’s death and her mother’s cancer diagnosis, while responding to internet trolls.

The actress hit out at some of her “asshole” followers, who told her to gain weight in the comments below an Instagram post.
After she shared a video clip of herself wearing a crop top and bikini bottoms, one follower wondered where her “butt” had gone and encouraged Kate to “do some squats.”
Another claimed her body had “shrunk,” while another insisted she “looked upset” in the video posted Monday night.
However, Kate hit back at the cruel comments, explaining that there were several reasons for her changed figure, including a six-week hospital stay.
