Kate Beckinsale sparked concern among fans when she revealed she was suffering from a mysterious ailment.
The actress, 49, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a selfie showing her drip while revealing it had been a ‘tough’ time for herself.
Adding to her misery, the Underworld star revealed that her beloved cat Clive was also struggling and had been admitted to the vet.
Alongside a series of photos, the mother of one wrote, “Tough week or two for both of us. Thank you to everyone who loved us.
‘Prayers up for my Clive and better days ahead x’.

Kate didn’t specify her own health issues or those of her cat, but fans were quick to share their support and well wishes.
As one commented, “That’s a really poorly done IV,” Kate explained, “The veins ran out and weren’t infiltrated or blown. Nobody’s fault.’

Animal lover Kate often poses for goofy snaps with the Persian cat, who has built up a fan base of her own.
The Underworld star also regularly has her other cat Willow and her Pomeranian dog Myth.

The Critics’ Choice Awards nominee shared a hilarious photo rocking her kitty in a sling with the caption, “Is Canada Ready?” [sic]’.
Although the post garnered over 100,000 likes and praise from her celebrity friends, Kate still came under fire from trolls.
As one commented, “You pride yourself on being eccentric, it all smacks of too much effort,” Kate clapped back in reference to their profile picture, “omg it’s too funny for you to say that with that hair.”
