Kate Beckinsale reveals her ‘wig and costume were ripped’ when an actor was ‘rough with her’ on ‘toxic’ set and she claims she was ‘ostracised’ for complaining about her ordeal amid Blake Lively lawsuit

Kate Beckinsale has claimed her ‘wig and costume were torn’ when an actor was ‘rough to her’ as she detailed her experiences working on the ‘toxic’ Pearl Harbor set.

In the wake of Blake Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, Kate, 51, has shared her harrowing experiences in Hollywood.

After revealing that she was ‘forced to do a photo shoot while bleeding after a miscarriage’, Kate continued to give insight into her time in the industry, and how she was ‘banned’ for complaining about her ordeal at Pearl Harbor.

The Underworld star shared the details in response to a fan who questioned her comments about a “drunk co-star” and asked if it was Ben Affleck.

Kate quickly noted that Ben was not the actor in question, writing, “Ben Affleck protected me on an extremely toxic movie set and couldn’t have behaved more respectably.

“I’m not going to go into detail about who it was or wasn’t because, honestly, the most problematic part hasn’t been the actors. Reporting a problem or abuse has led to a harsher punishment than you could ever imagine.”

The actress starred alongside Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett in the World War II epic, and told how he was ‘banned’ for complaining about her experiences on the set of the film.

‘That’s the thing – everyone says, why didn’t you tell someone properly? Overall we have told our agents or managers and the head of the studio and this has usually been seen by 30 to 100 people and in one specific incident the actor was so rough with me that he stole part of my costume and tore my wig in half, not to mention covering me in bruises, beating me to the wind and scaring me to death.”

‘Everyone was incredibly concerned, shutting down the set for several hours and being very concerned and upset.

‘As soon as I called the head of the studio, I was actually urged to do it by my mother because my instincts weren’t like that… as soon as I complained about it, everything turned around and I was punished, left out and I couldn’t have wished for more. I have said nothing that is just or not right [and] the whole reason I made this video in the first place.”

Kate described her own experiences in Hollywood in a candid Instagram video on Sunday, recounting Blake’s lawsuit has highlighted what is really happening behind the scenes in Hollywood and said she is grateful to the star for speaking out.

Speaking about one of her traumatic experiences, Kate said a publicist told her she would be “sued” if she didn’t appear at the photo shoot.

She said: ‘I was forced by a publicist, who I employed, to do a photo shoot the day after I had a miscarriage.

“I said, ‘I can’t do it.’ I’m bleeding. I don’t feel like changing clothes in front of people I don’t know and doing a photo shoot.

‘I’m bleeding from a miscarriage.’ She said, “You’ll have to or you’ll be sued.”

Kate detailed her own experiences in Hollywood in a candid Instagram video on Sunday, saying Blake’s lawsuit has highlighted what really happens behind the scenes.

She also revealed she was once called a ‘c*** and ab****’ because she complained when she had to wait six hours for her ‘drunk co-star’ to show up for work.

In another experience, Kate said she was forced onto a strict diet in two separate films, during which she lost her period twice.

She added: ‘I had to go on such a strict diet and exercise program in one film that I stopped getting my period altogether – that’s happened twice already.’

Kate insisted that she ‘gaslit and made to feel like I was a problem, blamed and excluded from the industry.

The Pearl Harbor star claimed she has approximately “47 million stories,” similar to the experiences she shared after her days on movie sets.

She insisted: ‘I’m grateful to Blake Lively for emphasizing that this is not an archaic problem that no one has to deal with – this is ongoing.

‘And when it does happen, a machine comes into play that absolutely destroys you. And I’m sure this is also the case in other sectors, and it simply has to stop.’

Alongside the lengthy video, Kate emphasized in her caption: ‘Everyone in ANY industry should be taken seriously and not punished if something serious happens to them at work.

‘And the difference, I think, in our industry is that it becomes something that is in the public sphere, and that can be very, very difficult to accept, and because it is so public and so global public, and very quickly becomes clickbait , it can also destroy a person’s livelihood, mental health and reputation and that can be very difficult to recover from…

‘I’m not trying to say ‘wah poor actresses, we’re all having such a hard time’, but I think this is a problem that affects every industry, it’s just a little more visible in ours –

“And I don’t want our younger generation of actresses to have to deal with the same things that we all do and did, but they have it worse because of social media and the way it can be weaponized to a literal nuclear level, designed to lash out.

“And it is very, very, very easy to stir up hatred against actresses, as evidenced by the transcripts of disgusting conversations between the publicists and the crisis team involved in this case.

‘Complaining about abuse should not lead to further abuse, especially in the workplace where there should be inviolable protection, and it should not be expected of women who have been harmed, insulted, hurt, embarrassed or otherwise abused ( usually with at least at least 100 witnesses) to have to be ‘one of the guys’ and take it on the chin or risk retaliation for being abused in the first place.

“I don’t want anyone, man or woman, who has a legitimate complaint to have it weaponized against them, in any industry, and I mention this in collaboration with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, because our industry makes things more visible by the press and the public deliberately get involved and lead them to an opinion that they do not realize is intentional.

Last week, Blake, 37, filed a legal complaint against Justin, 40, alleging that he sexually harassed her on the set of their film before orchestrating a smear campaign against her with his publicists after she complained about his alleged behavior.

In Lively’s legal complaint — which typically predates a formal lawsuit — Lively accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her in multiple ways during the film’s production.

“There are far too many victims of this, many of whom I know personally, and it really is up to both men and women in our industry to be part of eradicating this for good. And yes, I’m covered in cat hair.’

In Blake’s legal complaint — which typically predates a formal lawsuit — she accused Justin of sexually harassing her in multiple ways during the film’s production.

Blake said in the legal complaint that Justin barged into her trailer while she was breastfeeding her child; talked about his past addiction to adult films; talked about past sexual experiences with non-consensual implications; and asked her about details of her ‘intimate life’.

Blake’s legal team said in the complaint that Justin was “routinely deteriorating” [her] by finding ways to criticize her body and weight.”

In response to Blake’s exposure of the alleged behavior, the actress claims Justin hired a PR crisis team to engage in a “layered” plan to “destroy” her reputation after she and Ryan Reynolds, 48 , had complained about the ‘repeated sexual acts’. harassment and other disturbing behavior” on set.

“I hope my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak out about wrongdoing and protect others who may be targeted,” Blake told The New York Times.

Justin has denied all claims against him in Blake’s legal file.
