Kate and Alistair Champion: Wife of ‘laser clinic king’ offers extraordinary response to rumours their marriage is OVER – after her fire sale of designer wardrobe set off alarm bells

EXCLUSIVE

The wife of Laser Clinics Australia co-founder Alistair Champion has addressed rumors that they quietly split after returning to Sydney following a year-long stay in Paris with their two children.

Alarm bells started ringing this week when socialite Kate Champion took to social media to announce she would be unloading her designer wardrobe at a discounted rate, accompanying the post with a series of scantily clad selfies modeling her clothes.

It followed months of rumors about the state of affairs surrounding the Champions’ wedding and for many of their well-connected friends, it seemed to confirm the speculation.

Sources close to the couple believed they had become increasingly distant recently and were spending more and more time apart.

However, when approached for comment on Wednesday, a surprised Ms Champion said there was absolutely no truth to the gross gossip.

“I’m sitting with my husband now,” she said.

The ‘fire sale’ fueled rumors of marital problems between Kate and Alistair Champion (pictured together), which she insisted to Daily Mail Australia were completely false

When asked where she believed the rumor came from, Ms Champion simply laughed and said: “It’s just people from Sydney being assholes.”

‘I keep my head down. I don’t believe in gossip,” she added.

Ms. Champion’s “fire sale” included items from Valentino, Céline, Chanel, Gucci and Dior, all of which were sold at low prices.

She said of the discount sale: “I believe in giving back and these are pieces that I have cherished and I want other people to get the same love.

‘I want to move quickly because I am very busy and I really cannot stand fast fashion and I want to be an example for people to buy well.’

The couple lived in Paris for a year before returning to Sydney late last year

Last year the Champions bought a luxury waterfront property in Australia’s most expensive postcode, Point Piper, for an estimated $69 million.

The 1,200 sq m freehold property also came with a swimming pool, private beach and jetty, along with one of the few permanent moorings in the suburb.

While she may be eager to sell her wardrobe at a discount, the notoriously private yet super-wealthy couple are no strangers to the finer things in life..

They currently live in an 1880s Victorian Italianate mansion in Sydney’s affluent Woollahra, which they bought in 2017 for $13.5 million.
