Jamie Carragher and Kate Abdo were involved in an awkward argument about her relationship with her boyfriend during CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage.
The pair were standing alongside Thierry Henry and Micah Richards on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening when Carragher suggested Abdo should wear the Arsenal shirt he had been asked to put on.
Earlier in the show, the former Liverpool defender had Richards don the shirt after the latter revealed he grew up as an Arsenal supporter.
But at the end of the shootout it was Carragher’s turn to wear the shirt after Bukayo Saka requested it in his post-match interview.
Seemingly determined to continue the trend, Carragher suggested that Henry and Abdo should be next in line.

“You (Henry) can wear it next and for the last part (of the show) you (Abdo) have to wear it,” he told his colleagues.
“No, I’m loyal,” Abdo quickly replied, before adding: “Manchester United, thank you very much,” when Carragher asked who she was loyal to.
“You are not loyal to Malik,” the former Liverpool defender fired back, referring to Abdo’s friend Malik Scott.
The joke seemed to go down like the proverbial lead balloon with the CBS host, who responded, “What? How can you even say that?’, as Henry and Richards smiled awkwardly.
Carragher then tried to explain the comment, noting that Scott “hasn’t had a mention on the show tonight.”
Abdo made her relationship with Deontay Wilder’s trainer Scott official earlier this month.
The CBS Sports presenter previously saw her partner’s name revealed on air by Carragher and Richards in December last year, after she joked about the presenter’s new relationship during broadcasts since the start of the season.
And last week Abdo revealed that her partner officially wants to tie the knot.
Speaking to The Athletic this week, the host revealed that the out-of-the-box nature of CBS’ reporting is what made it so special.
“The freedom to be off-script (that’s why it works), the freedom to be our authentic selves,” she said.

‘We all have very different personalities and bring different assets. But I think as a whole we all complement each other in some way.
‘Working in television is such a source of frustration for me, because so often you go to a program and have to justify every minute, even though you know exactly what is going to happen in the next hour.
‘For something to happen spontaneously, all the air in the room is needed.
