A beautiful rooftop bar in the heart of Sydney has opened to give guests a taste of Morocco.
Hidden away on the top floor of the luxury Strand Hotel in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst Kasbahan urban rooftop oasis that foodies crave.
With its dreamy earth tones, Moroccan-style décor and a delicious menu full of dishes inspired by the North African destination, guests will feel like they have embarked on a luxury holiday to Marrakech.
Adding to the eatery’s appeal are the panoramic views of the Sydney skyline, which contrast with the cozy, rustic-chic decor.
Groups can choose from 14 different Moroccan-inspired share plates to enjoy, including lamb kefta, tiger prawns spiced with ginger, turmeric and coriander and fresh pita bread withzaalouk, a tasty dish with aubergines and tomatoes.

Guests can also enjoy Sydney oysters – which cost just $1 each during Happy Hour – or cheesy poltena bites, as well as a list of themed cocktails curated by Maybe Sammy’s award-winning bartenders.
Cocktails are infused with Moroccan flavors, such as the Sultan Sour with rum, raisins, cashews, orgaade, pear, lime and mandarin or The Silk Road with vodka, coffee liqueur, tahini, cardamom and rose water.
Kasbah is the perfect place to watch the sun set over the city in a spectacular setting designed by Sydney architects from Public Design Studio, who said they were inspired by ‘stealthy Moroccan-French rooftops dotting the bustling cityscapes of North Africa ‘.

“The design draws on the pastel tones of Marrakech, vibrant tiles and materiality and lush, inviting furnishings to encourage a sunset drink with a group to an intimate late-night dinner,” according to an Instagram post.

‘I’m looking for Persian carpets, maybe I’ll get some ideas while drinking cocktails. The weather is warm again,” said one woman.
