A woman has shared text messages she exchanged with an old flame hours before he allegedly killed a school teacher she had met on the same dating app.
Ashley Gaddie, 33, is accused of murdering Dannielle Finlay-Jones, 31, at a house in Cranebrook, western Sydney, on Sunday after she introduced him to friends in a pub the night before. .
As police launched an investigation into the death of Ms Finlay-Jones, Karla Tauro, 25, stood outside Gaddie’s Five Dock apartment, 50km away in Sydney’s inner-west, to collect her belongings after their whirlwind romance ended two days earlier.
The trader was allegedly on the run for 48 hours before police cornered him on a cliff in the Blue Mountains Tuesday afternoon. The confrontation lasted almost 12 hours.
He was finally arrested after midnight on Wednesday and taken to the Katoomba police station, where he will be charged with murder today.
Ms. Taurus broke her silence about her relationship with Gaddie after their paths first crossed on Tinder in late November.
“I have had a roller coaster of emotions and a lot of anxiety in the last few days since I last spoke to the suspect,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

The couple dated for three weeks before Mrs. Taurus told her last Friday that she wanted to end the relationship after a series of escalating arguments.
She also asked when she could go pick up her belongings from her house, writing: “Probably for the better.” Because I think you don’t want this anymore.
Gaddie finally responded the next day.
‘Is morning arvo good for you? I’m not going to beg you to stay,’ she texted him at 7:47 p.m. Saturday.
That text message was sent the same night that Gaddie met Ms. Finlay-Jones and was introduced to her friends. at The Marsden Brewhouse in Marsden Park.
“I was the last person this guy was in contact with,” Ms Taurus told the Telegraph.
“I recently had a conversation with him on Saturday night. I was arranging with him to retrieve some of my belongings from his house.

On Sunday afternoon, Ms. Taurus texted Gaddie to say she was on her way and back outside his unit when he didn’t answer the door, before telling him she wasn’t home.
She had no idea why he wasn’t home until a homicide detective showed up at her home Monday, she told the news outlet.
‘My face just fell off. My stomach completely sank and fell.
In the meantime, loved ones have left an increasing number of heartfelt tributes to the much loved slain soccer teacher and coach, Ms Finlay-Jones, it continues.

In one photo, Gaddie can be seen posing in a light gray T-shirt and shorts inside an elevator while taking a selfie in the mirror.
Other images show him wearing protective gear while working on a construction site, taking a nature walk and taking a selfie with a waterfall in the background.
