Karl Stefanovic’s wife Jasmine shows off her stunning view of Paris as she enjoys fancy dinner on Channel Nine’s dime – amid layoffs and wage disputes at the network
Karl Stefanovic has made sure his wife Jasmine gets to enjoy the best Paris has to offer as the Today show host is in France covering the Nine Olympic Games.
On Sunday, the couple went to the exclusive Girafe Restaurant, which you can enter with a Game Pass.
Jasmine beamed alongside Karl in a photo she shared on Instagram, with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
“La Girafe with you. Thank you @channel9 for a lovely dinner,” she wrote in the caption, indicating that the pair had dined out at the network’s expense.
At this expensive eatery, you can get caviar for as much as €650 (AUD$1,075), while main courses cost between $60 and $70.
The restaurant serves gourmet fish dishes in a luxurious restaurant with a terrace and a view of the Eiffel Tower.
Not everyone was happy with the post. One comment on Instagram read: ‘I’m sure all the people who just got fired from Channel Nine will be happy to see you eating at the most expensive restaurant in Paris, paid for by Channel Nine!’
Others defended the pair, commenting: ‘They work themselves to death 24/7 in Paris, so be nice and cheerful, or just say nothing.’

Ny Breaking Australia has reached out to Channel Nine for comment.
Karl, Jasmine and their daughter Harper have a fantastic party when they accompany the TV presenter to the Olympic Games in Paris.
Jasmine, 40, has shared photos on social media of the luxury accommodation she appears to have scored thanks to an Airbnb sponsorship.
One photo showed Karl and Harper, four, relaxing on the chaise lounge, while another showed a spacious bedroom complete with a king-size bed and stunning views of the city.
Jasmine captioned the photos: ‘A wonderful welcome to Paris by @airbnb. Thank you for hosting us during the Olympics.
‘We have made such amazing family memories already. It really feels like a home from home #airbnbpartner.’

Meanwhile, Karl, 49, shared a clip on Instagram showing him holding a French baguette and a jar of Vegemite in the Airbnb apartment the family are advertising.
He showed off his skills for the camera as he brazenly spread some bread and enjoyed himself on his apartment balcony.
Karl then toasted the camera with his baguette, while cutting a piece of baguette for Harper.
He wrote in the caption: ‘Late nights and early mornings for this proud Australian in Paris.
“So grateful to be here covering the Paris 2024 Olympics. It’s such a joy to have my family here with me thanks to Airbnb. I can’t wait to see our team do their thing. Go to Australia.”
Ny Breaking Australia has learned that Karl was staying at Nine’s property, while Jasmine and his family stayed in Airbnb.

“Karl is staying in the same accommodation as Nine staff. He has a young family and works heavy hours and they were offered an Airbnb because Jasmine has also started working with them,” a Nine spokesperson told Ny Breaking Australia.
Meanwhile, angry viewers are unhappy with Karl’s coverage of the Olympics. Many Australians have taken to social media to criticise Channel Nine’s coverage of the Paris Olympics.
Thousands of Australians woke up early Saturday morning to watch the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris. They had to wait for hours until the Australians finally appeared on stage, because they are the host country in 2032. According to Olympic protocol, they appeared as the third country.
Viewers were not impressed with Nine’s handling of the opening ceremony, and Karl’s commentary in particular. They accused him of ignoring important and entertaining parts of the ceremony, and many called on him to be quiet on social media.
This comes as hundreds of jobs are cut at Nine Entertainment, including positions at its well-known TV news division, prompting a staff strike.
In June, Nine Entertainment CEO Mike Sneesby announced job cuts as part of a $30 million cost-saving plan for the company.
“Of our national team of nearly 5,000 people, approximately 200 jobs in Nine are expected to be affected, including a number of vacancies and temporary roles that will not be filled,” Sneesby said.
