Karl Stefanovic’s daughter Willow reveals her mum and dad haven’t been in same room for ‘years’

Willow, Karl Stefanovic’s eldest daughter, has opened up about her famous family and the highly publicized breakup of her parents’ marriage.

In an interview with Woman’s Day magazine, the 18-year-old model revealed that the Today show host and her mother, Cassandra Thorburn, “have not been in the same room together for years” following their acrimonious split.

Karl, 48, and Cassandra, 52, were married for 21 years until they split in mid-2016. The former couple also share children Jackson, 23, and River, 16.

Willow, whose real name is Ava but prefers to use her middle name, said she hopes things will change by the time she turns 21 or gets married.

“That’s something I always wanted to bring them together for special occasions, but I had to distance myself from that because it’s not my problem,” he said.

‘It’s their business if they choose not to be friendly, of course I wish they weren’t, but I won’t force them. I hope one day we can all be together again.

She added that her mother Cassandra, a former television producer and journalist, “has never been happier” in her current job as a dental nurse and receptionist.

Willow also revealed what she really thinks of her father’s new wife, Jasmine Stefanovic (née Yarbrough), who shares two-year-old daughter Harper with the reality star.

The recent high school graduate had nothing but good things to say about her stepmother, 39, referring to her as her “second mother.”

“(Jasmine) has become more like a friend to me,” she said, but added that Jasmine is “much stricter than dad.”

The brunette celebrated her 18th birthday last Thursday and received numerous tributes from her family on social media.

To celebrate the milestone, Karl had some kind words for his lookalike girl, saying he’s “going to love her forever and beyond” along with a sweet selfie of the couple snuggling.

She also posted photos of Willow over the years and a fun shot of the teen and her stepmom Jasmine posing for a mirror selfie in matching pink outfits.

‘Happy birthday to our 18 year old goddess. I am so proud of you. I love you forever. And beyond,” Karl captioned his post, which garnered more than 7,000 likes.

Willow also revealed what she really thinks of her father’s new wife, Jasmine Stefanovic (née Yarbrough), who shares daughter Harper, two, with the TV star.

‘I love you!!! I can’t wait to celebrate! Willow thanked her dad in the comments.

Karl previously told Stellar magazine that he is ‘fully supportive’ of his daughter Willow in her ambitions to become a model.

“She doesn’t go into anything blindly, especially in the world of fashion. She is a strong and independent young woman and she wants to pursue many things in life. We love the spirit of her,” she added.

Cassandra added: ‘I encourage all my children to work hard and pursue their dreams and aspirations.

“Willow knows who she is and what she wants, and those attributes make me very proud,” she added.
