Karl Stefanovic Subtly Criticizes His Former Today Show Co-Star Ally Langdon Ahead of Her A Current Affair Debut

Today’s Show’s Karl Stefanovic poked fun at his former host Ally Langdon ahead of her A Current Affair debut on Monday night.

Karl and new co-host Sarah Abo called the blonde beauty just hours before her first show and noted how she’d transitioned from morning call-in times at Today to evening shifts at ACA.

Larrikin Karl then joked that Ally had always been a bit ‘lazy’.

Karl Stefanovic of the Today Show took a cheeky dig at his former co-host Ally Langdon on the Monday morning before her A Current Affair debut when he called her out along with new host Sarah Abo.

“I know it’s a bit difficult for you to work at night, you’ve always been a bit lazy,” Karl said.

‘How is he going to be working at 7 at night, what are you doing with the children?’

Ally laughed at the joke and said that the dreams haven’t been as long as she would have thought.

“I know it’s a bit difficult for you to work nights; you’ve always been a bit lazy,” Karl joked as they discussed their new role.

“I thought how well I’m going to sleep these days, it’s not a 3am wake up call but the kids are still up at 5:30am,” she explained.

He went on to admit that he had “nerves” about the first show.

“I’m really looking forward to it tonight,” he said.

Channel Nine confirmed in December that Ally will step down from her co-hosting role on Today to replace outgoing ACA presenter Grimshaw, 62.

“We’ve been traveling shooting stories for the last two weeks, which is a lot of fun, but to be honest, I’m a little nervous tonight.”

He went on to say that Sarah has been doing a “wonderful” job arguing with Karl while he was in the dugout.

“Sarah you’re amazing in that chair, honestly it’s been lovely to watch,” he added.

‘You look so comfortable and you’ve managed quite well to fight with that guy next to you. It’s been lovely sitting at home watching. ‘

Ally hosted her last Today show in December.

The blonde beauty broke down in tears uncontrollably as Karl paid a very emotional tribute to his “very dear friend” and beloved co-host of nearly three years.

Her throat caught as Karl sang her praises and said she fit perfectly into the shoes of her late father-in-law Mike Willesee in A Current Affair.
