Karim Benzema unfollows all but FIVE of his former France teammates after leaving the national team amid the Real Madrid star’s acrimonious exit from the World Cup… but he STILL follows Salt Bae!
The fallout from Karim Benzema’s acrimonious World Cup exit continues after the Real Madrid star unfollowed nearly all of his former French teammates on Instagram.
Benzema departed from Les Bleus ahead of the tournament in Qatar, with the French Football Federation claiming an injury.
However, it has since emerged that Benzema’s hit was not a long-term injury and he returned to Madrid training ahead of the World Cup final in France, with reports suggesting he turned down the chance to return to Midfield. East in the middle of a dispute with coach Didier Deschamps.
Earlier this week, Benzema announced his retirement from the national team, having returned from a six-year hiatus amid a legal battle involving former teammate Mathieu Valbuena.
And now Marca reports that Benzema has made a selection of his social networks, unfollowing all but five of his former teammates in the national team, which are Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouaméni, Kylian Mbappe, Raphael Varane and Marcus Thuram.
Camavinga and Tchouameni are Benzema’s teammates at Madrid, while Varane used to play alongside the striker at Los Blancos.
