Kareem Hunt ‘set to visit the Chiefs on Tuesday’ – six years after team cut him when video emerged of him pushing a woman to the ground and kicking her

The Chiefs are turning to a familiar face after Isiah Pacheco suffered a broken fibula, as the franchise is reportedly set to receive former running back Kareem Hunt.

Pacheco, the team’s starting center fielder, was injured during Kansas City’s win over the Bengals on Sunday and will play in the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

And after that blow, Hunt will visit his former team on Tuesday, according to multiple reportsas the Chiefs explore options to replace Pacheco on the short team.

The Chiefs also have rookie Carson Steele and veteran Samaje Perine on the roster, in addition to Pacheco.

The potential reunion with Hunt comes six years after the team fired him after surveillance video published by TMZ in November 2018 showed him kicking and shoving a woman in a hotel.

Hunt ended up with the Cleveland Browns and spent four years there, mainly as a reserve

Hunt was not charged by police but was later suspended for eight games into the 2018 season.

He would later apologize for his actions and admit that he had not been honest with the Chiefs after the incident came to light.

“I honestly want the world to know how sorry I am for what I did,” Hunt said. ESPN.

“It’s been a tough time for me. I’m so embarrassed by that video. … The video shows that I was wrong. I’m not that type of person. I’m just disappointed and embarrassed for myself and for my family. I’m really taking action to learn from this and doing everything I can to be a better man.”

He continued, “The Chiefs are right. I didn’t tell them everything and I don’t blame them for anything. My actions caused this. I really wish I could just apologize and let them know there’s no hard feelings between me and the Chiefs. I love the program. I love the people there. I just want to take this time and improve myself and make sure that something like this never happens again.”

Hunt was cut by the Chiefs, but joined the Cleveland Browns a few months later in early 2019. He played for the team for four years, mostly as a reserve, before the teams parted ways this summer.

Hunt, a third-round pick out of Toledo, was a star player in Kansas City as a rookie, rushing for 1,327 yards and being selected to the Pro Bowl.
