A celebrity hairstylist who works with the Kardashians has revealed the 'right' way to hold a curling iron and wand that will completely change the way your hair looks.

Jen Atkin, 43, posted a helpful TikTok last week demonstrating her go-to tips for using the popular hair essentials.

She told her viewers, “I'm going to show you the right way to hold your tools, to get the same look on each side of your head, because I promise you, you're doing it wrong.”

Jen believes that following her tips will give your locks volume in the form of “really beautiful loose waves.”

“You're going to wrap your hair if you hold it vertically… but the butt is always facing up.”

She then switched hands and demonstrated the technique on the other side, trying to make her hair “look uniform.”

Jen then held her curling iron to create a “nice loose wave or bend,” but admitted that the process is “different” than using a wand.

Contrary to her first recommendation, she suggested keeping the “butt down” this time.

She then showed her 241,000 followers how to do a “spiral bend to get a really nice loose wave.”
