Bianca Censori’s gangster uncle makes last ditch bid to avoid court trial – after he dodged being jailed for life over police raid

The gangster uncle of Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori is considering peace talks with lawyers acting on behalf of Victoria Police in a bid to avoid a costly jury trial.

Eris Censori, who was once sentenced to death in Western Australia for the murder of a waiter, was also called the ‘Al Capone of Melbourne‘ before his life of crime crumbled.

Daily Mail Australia revealed in May that the notorious criminal would be jailed for life after being embroiled in a police raid while living in the same house as a suspected pedophile.

Although he was cleared of any wrongdoing, Censori was hauled before the Adult Parole Board upon arrest, where he was sent back to prison to serve his life sentence.

In a claim filed against the State of Victoria in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Censori alleged that the search warrant that landed him on parole was obtained “through malfeasance and in the absence of facts.”

It can now be revealed that lawyers acting on behalf of Censori are interested in meeting with those acting on behalf of the State of Victoria, which is acting on behalf of Victoria Police.

The parties have agreed to discuss a possible mediation session, which will be the subject of a hearing in the Supreme Court of Victoria scheduled for August next year.

The cause of the lengthy delay in the preliminary directions hearing remains unclear.

If mediation fails, the case will proceed to a full jury trial on September 15.

During that process, the reclusive Censori will ultimately appear in court in person.

He has remained unseen for most of the recent court proceedings, during which he has come under fire for delaying the trial.

At a hearing last month, the court heard the case was at risk of being thrown out if Censori continued to delay the proceedings, which began in August last year.

Censori was arrested by Victoria Police detectives in September 2020 on suspicion of fraud.

But the discovery of a cell phone belonging to his roommate – which allegedly contained child pornography – threatened to put him behind bars for good.

Censori – who has changed his name to Tony Campana – claimed his arrest “disgraced” his good character and “brought him public ridicule, shame and contempt.”

The court heard that Censori had initially represented himself in court but quickly opted to seek a legal team.

Although he was now represented by a lawyer, the court heard that Censori had failed to comply with orders given to him on July 17 to vary his statement of claim.

“That didn’t happen,” Censori’s lawyer Tim Sowden told the court at the time.

No reasons were given as to the cause of the delay, with Mr Sowden suggesting his client would comply with orders.

Censori’s niece has made headlines around the world this week amid claims she was on the verge of splitting from her famous husband.

The couple’s relationship appeared to be on the rocks on Monday when multiple reports suggested they had been spending time apart in recent months, with an insider telling DailyMail.com that Bianca had stated the pair had ‘drift’ apart.

However, the rapper, 47, and the Australian beauty, 29, appeared to confirm they were still together as they were pictured packing on the PDA as they reunited in Tokyo on Tuesday.

The architectural designer’s inner circle were left confused by her decision to claim the couple were on the rocks.

“Kanye and Bianca were responsible for the news that they were getting divorced because they both told people,” a source exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com.

TMZ reported that the musician told friends he was done with Bianca and wanted to be single while he spent time in Japan.

Meanwhile, sources close to the Australian had revealed to DailyMail that she had shared the same news with loved ones during her recent visit to her home country – although the insider did note that ‘there is a chance they will reunite’.

The source continued: “She told her friends in Australia and he told anyone who would listen.”

Insiders have now stated that the pair may have attracted attention, as the source added: ‘They knew that, by doing this, it would create some buzz and make them relevant as he tries to promote his new album.

‘They both know that people are over them and that her naked outfits aren’t enough to keep people interested. Everyone has seen her naked, now there’s nothing left to wonder about.’

Censori’s uncle tasted fame for all the wrong reasons when he was convicted of murder in the 1980s.

He escaped the death penalty for the murder of waiter Michael Sideris because the death penalty was abolished in Western Australia in 1984 before he could be executed.

He is the brother of Bianca’s father Elia ‘Leo’ Censori, who also served a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted in 1982 on charges of possessing a banned import. after a raid by the Australian Federal Police found heroin in his kitchen.

Daily Mail Australia announced last year that Leo was also convicted of possessing a gun and ammunition served two years of his five-year sentence on the drug charges.

Their eldest brother, Edmondo, known as ‘Eddie Capone’, has also been convicted in Victoria of violence including assaulting police, theft and making threats.

In documents provided to the court, Bianca’s uncle claims police used his sale of a Brunswick property to obtain the search warrant under the guise of investigating an alleged fraud against the Bank of Queensland.

At the time of his arrest, Censori was living with two other men in Bulleen, northeast of Melbourne.

“(Censori) was in his bedroom overlooking the courtyard when he saw the gate open and an escort of six large men entering, all armed with pistols,” the documents said.

“(He) immediately suspected that the escorts were members of Victoria Police. The thought filled him with dread.’

Police had alleged that the Brunswick property he sold was purchased from him with fraudulently obtained funds.

‘I think you made a mistake. I am the seller. I have not raised any money from any bank,” Censori told investigators.

Censori was escorted to his bedroom and claimed that police asked him to hand over documents related to the sale before being asked for access to his phone and computer.

“Upon completion of the search, (Censori) was shown a cell phone recovered from another resident’s bedroom and asked questions regarding the occupant of said bedroom and the contents of the cell phone,” the documents said.

Censori claimed that the lead detective told him that he was aware of his criminal conviction for murder, that he had served a long prison sentence and that he was still reporting to the parole board 25 years after his release.

“Any criminal charge, even an allegation of involvement in a crime, could result in a parole violation, which could result in me being returned to prison and ultimately deported,” he told the detective.

At the end of the search, Censori claimed he was handcuffed and paraded in front of his neighbors before being taken to the police station for questioning.

After Censori was fingerprinted and examined by police, he was released without charge.

Censori claimed the parole board caught up with him in January 2021, when he was questioned about his relationship with the suspected pedophile.

Censori claimed that he told the board that he no relationship with his flatmate, known as ‘Mohamed’, and knew nothing about the contents of his phone.

When Censori took the case to court, he claimed the lead detective was ‘abusive’ [scornful] ignore for [his] right to privacy and liberty, where harm is inflicted with malice’.
