The Kanye West documentary Jeen-Yuhs continues to stream on Netflix amid ongoing controversy over the rapper’s anti-Semitism.

A representative of the streaming service told TMZ Monday that the company did not remove the document because West was not the creator or promoter of the project, but rather the subject.

The representative noted that Netflix has no history of removing content from producers or artists who later become mired in controversy.

Jeen-Yuhs, which debuted on the streaming service in February, is described by the streamer as an “intense, intimate docuseries charting Kanye West’s career, filmed over two decades.”

The streamer’s statement comes in response to a story by The New York Times investigating West’s business relationships after speaking out publicly against Jewish people.

The paper reported that West’s future in music is unclear, as he has not been associated with Def Jam Recordings since Donda’s release in August 2021.

His February album, Donda 2, was released exclusively on his voice player. According to the report, Def Jam also does not distribute material from West’s label Kanye’s Getting Out Our Dreams, although it is unclear when the split took place.

Another documentary about West made by the studio MRC will be shelved in the wake of the scandal, the AP reported, as executives Modi Wiczyk, Asif Satchu and Scott Tenley said in a Monday memo, “We cannot support content that strengthens its platform.”

They added: “Kanye is a producer and sampler of music. Last week, he sampled and remixed a classic tune that’s been on the charts for over 3,000 years — the lie that Jews are evil and plotting to rule the world for their own gain.

This song was performed acapella during the time of the Pharaohs, Babylon and Rome, went acoustic with The Spanish Inquisition and Russia’s Pale of Settlement, and Hitler took the song electrically. Kanye has now made it mainstream in the modern age.”
