Kanye West calls himself ‘the king’ and offers Adidas ’20 percent of sales’ amid feud: ‘I love war’

24-time Grammy winner Kanye ‘Ye’ West continued to openly feud with Adidas in a series of Instastories he posted Thursday night.
The 45-year-old rapper-designer has been working with the German sportswear company since 2013, but now accuses executives of “stealing” his Yeezy design for their “Adilette 22” sandals.
Ye first shared a text message at 4:50 AM that he sent to Torben Schumacher – SVP, Global General Manager Adidas Originals, Basketball & Partnerships.

The Atlanta-born hip-hop star most likely referred to Paul Bowyer – VP of adidas Originals, Culture Partnerships & Basketball in North America.
Torben replied at 5 a.m.: “I tried to call you before. Can we speak briefly?’

The Atlanta-born hip-hop star didn’t share his response, but rather condescendingly wrote via Instastory: “Adidas, I’m not speaking to Torben anymore. I am the king. I only speak to the decision makers’
Ye went on to say he was “willing” to give Adidas “20% of sales/royalties/net profit” but emphasized, “No ownership. As a non-exclusive production and distribution partner’

Ye did not share his answer, but rather wrote condescendingly via instagram story: ‘Adidas I don’t speak to Torben anymore. I am the king. I only speak to the decision makers.’
West went on to say that he was ‘want to give’ Adidas ‘20% of sales/royalties/net profit’ but stressed out: ‘Not owned. As a non-exclusive production and distribution partner.’
The founder of Donda Academy – who? explained ‘I love war’ – previously ended his 10-year association with GAP on September 15 for asking $60-$300 for clothes he wanted to sell for $20.
“It was a kind of disregard for the voice of something I co-created. I co-created [Yeezy slides] at Adidas,” Ye . told Good morning America on Thursday.
