Nearly 70 people who participated in the Chiefs’ frigid Wild Card round against the Dolphins required medical treatment from the Kansas City Fire Department, according to a new report.

Temperatures were dangerously cold at Arrowhead Stadium last weekend, as it was -4 degrees with a wind chill of -27 at kickoff.

And according to CNNAccording to a fire chief, 69 people received help during the match – many for “hypothermia symptoms.”

The KCFD said “nearly 50 percent” of people were helped for that reason.

In addition, 15 patients were later transported by firefighters, seven for hypothermia symptoms, three for frostbite symptoms and five for other reasons, the department told CNN.

The game was the coldest ever at Arrowhead Field, but not in NFL history.

That distinction goes to the 1967 NFL Championship, when the Packers defeated the Cowboys at Lambeau Field under -13 conditions.

Due to the wind chill it was astonishingly cold -48 during the match.

The 1982 AFC Championship (-9 degrees) between the Bengals and Chargers and the 2016 Wild Card game between the Seahawks and Vikings in Seattle (-6) were also colder than last weekend’s Chiefs game.

Both the Chiefs and their second-round opponents, the Bills, are used to playing in the cold and it will be well below freezing again this Sunday at Highmark Stadium.

According to AccuWeatherThe temperature that night is expected to be as low as 15 degrees with a real feeling of -3.

The Bills defeated the Chiefs 20-17 in December, but Josh Allen has never beaten Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs thus far.
