Kansas City Chiefs ready to welcome Taylor Swift back ‘with open arms’ as fans eagerly await her arrival at Travis Kelce’s NFL season opener TONIGHT
The Kansas City Chiefs are not only preparing for the first game of the NFL season tonight, but also for Taylor Swift’s anticipated return to Arrowhead.
In a week dominated by a fake “contract” claiming Travis Kelce’s relationship with the pop star is a hoax, Swift is expected to arrive in Kansas City on Thursday night to see her man.
After multiple visits from the worldâs most famous woman last season, the Chiefsâ security staff is ready. And now, the team president has spoken out about Swiftâs return to their stadium.
âWe will be prepared for her and of course welcome her with open arms,â Mark Donovan said Front Office Sports this week.
He also spoke candidly about her first visit to the stadium, during last year’s Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears, and how he had heard in advance that she was coming.

“I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s fine. Um, it’s Taylor Swift. So we have to kind of plan for this,'” Donovan said.
He revealed that Swift’s own security team had gone to the stadium the day before the match to ensure the pop star arrived safely, with an “elaborate plan” in place for her arrival.
Donovan further explained, “She wants to be a fan. This is her free time. She wants to be there to support Travis. We’re going to create that opportunity where we can provide that.”
Her expected appearance on Thursday night obviously comes at a time when Kelce and Swift have had a rough week, battling the fake “contract” and rumors that they were planning to end their sham relationship at the end of the month.

Kelce’s PR team adamantly denies the romance is fake and insists everything is as it seems when it comes to the couple’s blossoming relationship.
Last season, Swiftâs regular appearances on the Chiefsâ nationally televised NFL games boosted ratings, reportedly adding $331.5 million to the NFL and Chiefsâ brand equity.
Some fans were frustrated by the number of times Swift was seen on the broadcast, often celebrating right after a touchdown. However, the Chiefs themselves have made it a point to never show her on the big screen at Arrowhead.
“We’re not trying to capitalize on it,” Donovan added to FOS. “We’re trying to celebrate it, but it’s not about doing too much or showing her every touchdown or anything like that.”
