Police after investigating a party after a teenager was found dead with ‘unnatural’ injuries in northeast Queensland.

Kane Moore, 18, was found dead Saturday morning with significant injuries in Townsville’s Rupertswood Park, not far from his home in Alice Park.

A member of the public called authorities around 7:30 a.m. after discovering his body.

Police believe Mr Moore died Friday evening or early Saturday morning.

“The decedent had a number of injuries that made us believe it was not just a sudden death due to a natural incident,” acting superintendent Chris Lawson said Monday.

Supt Lawson said the party took place near where the teen’s body was found and police had begun interviewing attendees.

“There were varying numbers at the party throughout the night, but police are actively identifying those who were at the party and looking for versions of them as to what happened,” he said.

Tributes have poured in online for the “cheeky” teen after his life was tragically cut short, with loved ones also flocking to the park to set up a memorial with flowers and photos.

His devastated older sister Mikaela said he was the “best brother anyone could wish for.”

“Love you Kane, your sassy and goofy personality will be forever missed,” she wrote on Facebook on Sunday.

“I wish we could turn back time. You were the best boy and you were so loved by everyone.

“Forever 18.”

Police are calling on the public with dashcam visibility from Hervey Range Road and Rupertswood Park to come forward.
