Kamala’s latest ‘word salad’ blunder sees VP tell a stunned crowd: ‘Community banks are in the community’

  • Kamala Harris has been criticized again for an incoherent ‘word salad’
  • On Tuesday she told reporters that ‘community banks are in the community’
  • The Vice President’s tautological remarks have made headlines before

Vice President Kamala Harris has been mocked for yet another “word salad” – in which she fills up her speeches by repeatedly exaggerating simple concepts.

While addressing the press at the Sycamore & Oak shopping village in DC on Tuesday, she stressed to reporters that “community banks are in the community” and therefore investing in them is good for the community.

“And so we’ve worked for years to expand investment in community banks because, you see, community banks specialize in providing loans and financial aid to small business owners, particularly those in overlooked and underserved communities.” said the vice president.

“And as the name suggests, community banks are in the community,” she added.

The term ‘word salad’ comes from psychiatry and describes an incomprehensible cocktail of words that make no sense together.

The term has recently been associated with Harris, whose style of speech often results in tautological sentences with little meaning.

In response, Chairman Kevin McCarthy’s deputy spokesman asked, “But do they offer services related to banking?”

“Let’s see if she can figure this out! Supermarkets sell GROCERIES,” conservative radio personality Ken Miles wrote, adding a thinking emoji.

“She actually said this,” tweeted conservative communications specialist Steve Guest.

In September she also elaborated on community, also in the context of community banks.

“We’ve invested an additional $12 billion in community banks because we know community banks are in the community and we understand the needs and desires of that community, as well as the community’s talent and capacity,” she said.

Harris has been mocked before for her odd choice of words. In January, she was mocked for a speech about Venn diagrams and school buses

Last month, Harris was criticized for explaining the meaning of the word “culture.”

Her comments came during the 2023 Essence Festival of Culture at the Caesars Superdome.

“Culture is — it’s a reflection of our moment and our times. Right?’ said the Democrat, going through several of her signature pauses.

She continued, “And today’s culture is how we express how we feel about the moment, and we should always find moments to express how we feel about the moment.

That is a reflection of joy. Because, you know,” she added, before an audible pause and finally a burst of laughter, “it’s coming tomorrow morning.”

She added: “We need to find ways to also express how we feel about the moment in terms of language alone and a connection to how people experience life. And that’s how I feel about it too.’

Collectively, her posts have garnered tens of thousands of views and hundreds of likes.

The quick reaction this week came after Harris gave another speech about the importance of “the moment” at a pro-abortion rally in Washington earlier this year.

“So I think it’s very important, as you’ve heard from so many incredible leaders for us at any point in time and certainly this moment, to see the moment in time where we exist and are present, and to to be able to put it in context, to understand where we are in history and in the moment, as it pertains not only to the past but also to the future,” she said in February.
