Kamala’s embarrassing Election Day gaffe as eagle-eyed viewers spot problem with photo-op ‘phone call’
Kamala Harris has been caught in an embarrassing election day blunder after turning her cell phone towards the cameras while “on the phone with a voter” – only to reveal she was apparently not on the phone at all.
‘Have you voted yet?’ a beaming Harris said on the phone. She paused, as if listening, before exclaiming, “Yes, thank you!”
The vice president then turned her phone screen toward adoring supporters at Democratic party headquarters in Washington, D.C., who applauded and cheered.
But viewers at home were quick to point out that her phone appeared to show the camera app and not a phone call.
“Kamala pretended to talk to a voter on the phone but falsely showed her phone open to the camera app,” someone wrote on X. “LMAO Everything about Kamala is FAKE and STAGED.”

“Kamala Harris is so fake… she was busted today on a hoax phone call with a ‘supporter.’ Her campaign is a disaster,” someone else wrote on X.
Others described the blunder as ‘brazen’ and ’embarrassing’ – although some people cast doubt on whether Harris could have been on the phone at all.
‘No. Kamala Harris didn’t “mimicking a phone call just because you see a camera app,” someone responded to X.
‘Try it, make a phone call, open the camera, hold it against your cheek and remove it. You will see the screen activate/deactivate to prevent your cheek from ringing (like hers).
‘iPhones only do this when you are on a call.
Some people question whether Harris could actually have been on the phone
It comes as a latest major poll showed Harris entered Election Day with a four-point lead over Trump after narrowing the gender gap.
Harris, 60, has the support of 51 percent of likely voters, according to the latest figures PBS News/NPR/Marist Poll. Trump receives support from 47 percent.
The survey shows that Harris’ surge comes after Trump’s lead among male voters narrowed significantly in the final days leading up to the election.
The 78-year-old Trump previously had a 57 percent lead among male voters, but now leads only 51 percent, compared to Harris’ 47 percent.
However, the Democrat’s lead among women shrank from 18 to 11 points.
