Kamala insists Joe will WIN in 2024 because there is ‘too much at stake’: VP Harris ignores the dire polls, mounting concerns about Biden’s age and dismisses Trump’s chances

Vice President Kamala Harris stressed that President Joe Biden would be re-elected next year, arguing in a new interview that there is “too much at stake” and dismissing concerns about his age.

She told CBS News’ Margaret Brennan that while she is willing to become the next commander-in-chief, BIden is “doing well.”

“Yes, I will, if necessary,” Harris said of taking office as president, adding, “But Joe Biden will be fine.”

The vice president, 58, has repeatedly had to defend the president’s age as the two pitched to voters for a second term in the White House.

a Survey from the Wall Street Journal found that 75 percent of voters think Biden is too old to be president, compared to just 47 percent who think the same about Donald Trump.

While Biden, 80, is only three years older than Trump, 77, there is a 26 percent margin between those who think Biden is too old and those who think the ex-president is too old to run for another term. to fulfill.

The poll also found that only 36 percent of the 1,500 polled voters think Biden is mentally fit for office, while 46 percent think Trump is mentally fit for the position.

Harris, meanwhile, also downplayed concerns that Trump would win a second term.

‘We will win the election… we will win the re-election. There is too much at stake and the American people know it,” she said.

The interview will air Sunday on Face the Nation and was conducted during Harris’ trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, where the vice president was attending the ASEAN summit.

Biden announced his bid for a second term at Harris in late April — but questions have been raised over the past year about whether the president is too old or unfit to serve another four years.

Harris also had to defend the 80-year-old president’s cognitive abilities when she gave an interview to the Associated Press during her trip to Indonesia.

‘I see him every day, a significant portion of the time we spend together is in the Oval Office where I see his ability to understand issues and weave through complex issues in a way that no one else can, to come up with smart and making important decisions on behalf of the American people have been played out,” Harris said

“And so I will tell you that I think the American people ultimately want to know that their president is getting results — and that Joe Biden is getting results,” she added.

Harris was plagued by low approval ratings, and in late June, NBC found she had reached a record low approval rating among vice presidents since the network’s polls began.

Only 32 percent of registered voters approved of her.

That, coupled with Biden’s age issues, has made Harris an ogre for Republican presidential candidates, some of whom have warned voters that a vote for Biden could be a vote to put Harris in the Oval Office.

Nikki Haley, in particular, has said she’s going up against Harris. Haley, 51, leads attacks on Biden’s age and says the 80-year-old president is not fit and will not live until 2028.

“We can’t have Kamala Harris as president. We can’t risk this,” Haley said on Fox Business’ Sunday Morning Futures in late August. “We need to make sure we have a new generation leader who will bring in not only Republicans, but also independents, suburban women, Hispanics and the Asian community.”

“We have to make sure we win this one, because the thought of Kamala Harris becoming president should send shivers down every American’s spine,” Haley added.

The former South Carolina governor suggested earlier this year that there should be an age limit for those who can run for the White House, suggesting that 75 would be a good limit.

In a new CNN/SSRS poll Thursday, Biden said Biden is narrowly following Trump GOP leader, 47 to 46.

But Haley leads Biden by 49 to 45 percent.
