Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to announce her running mate no later than Tuesday.

Harris and her pick will appear together for the first time Tuesday night at a campaign rally in Philadelphia.

The race for Democratic vice president appears to have narrowed down to three men — Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. All three met with Harris on Sunday.

Three others under consideration are Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.

The decision is being closely watched and kicks off a five-day campaign tour of seven states this week, in the crucial states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada.

Top senator outlines what Trump must do to beat Kamala Harris — while giving Donald a stern warning amid brutal polls

Lindsey Graham has told Donald Trump what he needs to do to beat Kamala Harris, after polls showed the vice president quickly overtaking him.

Overall, the race is neck and neck, according to a new CBS News/YouGov poll. Nationally, Harris leads Trump 50 percent to 49 percent among likely voters. In the swing states, the race is now tied at 50 percent.

Graham, the South Carolina senator, said Trump should focus on the issues where Harris is weak, rather than stirring up controversy over her identity as a mixed-race woman.

“The problem I have with Kamala Harris is not her race, it’s her judgment,” Graham told Fox News on Sunday.

“She’s been wrong about everything. When she tried to explain what she was going to do about inflation and an impending recession, it didn’t make sense. It’s nonsense.”

Fears that the US is heading for a recession are causing a global stock market slump, with Japan’s Nikkei seeing its biggest sell-off since ‘Black Monday’

Global stock markets continued to fall on Monday on fears that the US economy is heading for a recession, while Japan suffered its worst sell-off since ‘Black Monday’ in 1987.

According to experts at investment bank Goldman Sachs, the chance of a recession in the US is now as high as 25 percent. That is ten percent more than their previous estimate of 15 percent. JP Morgan, however, estimates the chance of a recession at 50 percent.

U.S. stock index futures fell sharply on Monday, with futures tied to the Nasdaq down nearly 4 percent. However, traders are now increasingly betting that the Federal Reserve will announce an emergency interest rate cut in response to the global stock market crash and to prevent a massive recession.

Employers added just 114,000 jobs last month, according to data released Friday by the Labor Department, well short of the Dow Jones estimate of 185,000.

Nancy Pelosi grins as she reveals her role in Biden’s dramatic exit from the 2024 race – before making the bizarre suggestion that Joe’s face belongs on Mount Rushmore

Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi revealed her exact role in Democrats’ efforts to drop President Joe Biden from the 2024 presidential race, leading to his dramatic departure and Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee.

Pelosi shared her thoughts on the president, his fitness for office and his decision to step aside in an interview with veteran journalist Lesley Stahl for CBS Sunday Morning ahead of the release of her new book, “The Art of Power.”

Pelosi was asked what she said to Biden to convince him to step aside, ahead of his dramatic exit from the 2024 presidential race on July 21.

“Well, I have never had any public conversations with the president of the United States, no,” Pelosi said with a smile. Pelosi said Biden knows she loves him “very much.”

Stahl pressured Pelosi after she reported that she was leading a pressure campaign to get Biden to withdraw.

“No, I was not the leader of the pressure…” Pelosi said, shaking her head.

Senator Mark Kelly sparks speculation he may withdraw from vice presidential race

Arizona Senator Mark Kelly caused a stir when he suggested he was no longer considered for Kamala Harris’ running mate.

In a now-deleted social media post, Kelly wrote Sunday night:

I spent my life in the Navy and NASA where the mission always comes first. Now my mission is to serve Arizonans.

By writing “in service of the people of Arizona,” many speculated that the former astronaut meant he had blown his chance to become the next Democratic vice president.

Just 30 minutes after the original X-post, Kelly deleted it and replaced it with:

Whether it’s through my time in the Navy and NASA, my time in the U.S. Senate, or visiting our troops overseas, I’ve learned that when your country calls you to serve, you always answer the call.

Kelly is considered one of the top three men Harris is considering for the role, along with Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Biden Heads to Situation Room as Iran Threatens to Attack Israel

President Joe Biden will meet with his national security team in the Situation Room later Monday as tensions between Iran and Israel rise.

The Islamic Republic could attack Israel within 24 to 48 hours after a major attack by Hezbollah that wounded two IDF soldiers, top Western diplomats have warned.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told the G7 yesterday that an attack was imminent in response to Israel’s killings of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Fuad Shukr in Beirut, Axios reported.

Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III reportedly spoke with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant on Sunday to assure the Jewish state of US support.

It would be the second time Iran has directly attacked Israel during the growing Middle East crisis. The first was in April, when the country fired a salvo of missiles and drones overnight.
