Kamala Harris suddenly cancels interview with Jimmy Kimmel

Vice President Kamala Harris canceled her scheduled appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, with plans to attend a campaign event instead. The vice president was scheduled to appear Tuesday on the show, which is filmed in the afternoon.

According to Deadline, she and her staff publicly gave no reason for canceling her appearance. The Vice President’s appearance on the show is expected to be rescheduled for a later date, but they have not announced a new date.

Her updated schedule for Tuesday revealed plans for the vice president to attend a campaign event in Los Angeles “later today” but closed it off to the press.

The Biden campaign continues to closely monitor the details of the vice president’s campaign events as protesters on the issue of climate change and Israel’s war in Gaza continue to interrupt it.

On Monday, Harris campaigned in Las Vegas and returned to Los Angeles on Monday evening. She did not return to Washington, DC.

The vice president has made the issue of abortion rights a central part of her campaign message.

She made a surprise appearance at the Power Leadership and Influence of Black Women luncheon in Los Angeles on Saturday, where Senator Laphonza Butler was honored.

The states approve Trump’s abortion ban. So we’re not going to fall for the okey-doke,” she said, referring to Trump’s comments against a federal abortion ban. “We’re not going to worry about what’s going on and who’s to blame.”

“Vice President Harris is a champion on this issue, doing her best under the toughest circumstances to explain to her male colleagues how periods work,” MacFarlane joked at the event.

The vice president last appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show in July 2019, when she was running her own campaign for president.
