Kamala Harris snaps and tells Fox News’ Bret Bret Baier to ‘stop interrupting me’ in tense exchange

Vice President Kamala Harris sat down for a tense interview with Fox News, where she immediately clashed with host Bret Baier over immigration as he pressed her on the Biden administration’s policies.

The pair repeatedly talked over each other about the vice president issue, at one point shooting back, “You need to let me finish.”

The high-stakes interview took place in Pennsylvania, shortly after the vice president held a campaign event there on Wednesday.

It was Harris’ first interview with Fox News since taking office and comes under pressure to do more unscripted appearances and interviews as the election approaches.

Kamala Harris spoke to Fox News for the first time ever, where she repeatedly clashed with host Bret Baier on immigration. At one point, the vice president became frustrated and told the Special Report host, “You have to let me finish,” as he interrupted her.

Baier began asking Harris how many illegal immigrants she estimated have been released into the country during the Biden administration, but their heated interview quickly escalated.

“Well, I’m glad you brought up the issue of immigration because I agree with you: It’s a topic of discussion that people rightly want to have,” Harris said.

When Baier interrupted her to talk about a specific song, their conversation became awkward.

“Bret, let’s get to the point, okay? The point is, we have a broken immigration system that needs to be fixed,” Harris said.

Baier noted that Biden’s secretary of homeland security said six million people have been released into the country.

‘I’m not done yet. I’m not done yet,” Harris said as they started talking over each other.

Baier promised that he had just answered the entire question, while the vice president responded that she was only just beginning to answer.

The longtime Fox News host pointed out that the Biden administration has reversed some of Trump’s border policies. He asks if she regrets the decision to end the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy.

“The first bill, almost within hours of being sworn in, was a bill to fix our immigration system,” Harris said.

She pointed out that it was presented to Congress before they worked on infrastructure, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Chips and Science Act and more.

Baier stepped in to mention the specific act she was talking about when Harris interjected, “Can I please finish? Can I please end my comment? You have to let me finish.’

The pair continued to talk over each other, with Harris heard saying: “I’m in the process of responding to the point you’re raising, and I’d like to conclude.”

Harris said the issue has been a priority and their focus has been on “solving a problem.” She claimed that they have done a number of things to tackle the asylum system, tighten penalties and free up more resources.

Harris was referring to the bipartisan immigration bill, a piece of legislation she brought up numerous times during her campaign, and what it would have done. She also touted being attorney general of a border state prosecuting the trafficking of drugs, weapons and people.

Anchor Bret Baier, host of Special Report, repeatedly pressed Harris for details on immigration. He asked her about regrets about ending Trump’s border policy and whether the families of those killed in the country illegally by immigrants are owed an apology. Harris said she feels “terrible” about what a mother experienced after playing a clip from a parent

Then they started talking over each other again, with Baier pointing out that six Democrats voted against the deal while she criticized Trump for telling Republicans to drop the bill.

“In this election, this is rightly a discussion that the American people want to have and what they want are solutions,” Harris said forcefully.

The interview took another tense turn when Baier confronted Harris about citing a list of young women killed by illegal immigrants released during the Biden administration.

He called it a specific policy decision by her government to allow the men into the country.

“Do you owe those families an apology?” Baier asked.

“Let me first say that these are tragic cases, and I cannot imagine the pain that the families of these victims have experienced, because of a loss that should not have happened,” Harris responded, but she dodged the answer to the question. actual question.

She said it’s true if a border security agreement had been made nine months ago, it would have taken nine months with more agents and support at the border.

“These elections in 20 days will determine whether we have a president of the United States who cares more about solving a problem, even if it is not to their political advantage in an election,” the vice president said.

Baier played audio from one of a victim’s mothers for the vice president who blamed the Biden administration for her daughter’s death.

“Do you owe them an apology?” Baier repeated.

“I will tell you that I am very sorry for her loss. I am so sorry for her loss – sincerely,” Harris said, but she then said they needed to talk about what is happening “now” and accused Trump of not wanting to “get involved in solutions.”

When Baeir asked if she wanted to answer, Harris angrily responded, “I told you I feel terrible about what she and her family went through.”

The vice president also denounced the broken immigration system that the Trump administration is “transcending” when Baier asked her when, in her mind, the situation at the border became a crisis.

In another heated exchange, Baier asked Harris why half the country supports Trump, while she called him unfit to serve and dangerous.

“This is an election for the president of the United States, it shouldn’t be easy,” Harris said.

When Baier asked whether his supporters were misguided or stupid, Harris rejected this.

“I would never say that about the American people,” she replied. She pointed out that Trump “tends to demean, belittle and belittle the American people” at his rallies. The 59-year-old also said Trump has spoken about the “enemy within.”

Baier played a clip during a town hall on Wednesday in which Trump responded to his Fox News colleague Harris Faulkner who asked the ex-president about it.

In the clip, Trump denied threatening anyone and accused his opponents of arming him.

“Bret, I’m sorry and with all due respect, that excerpt was not what he said about the enemy within, what he repeated when he talked about the American people. That’s not what you just showed,” Harris pushed back.

“In all fairness and respect to you,” the vice president continued. “You didn’t show that, and here’s the thing: he’s repeated it many times, and you and I both know it.”

The interview took place in Washington Crossing, PA, after Harris held a campaign event there Wednesday afternoon where she courted Republican voters as polls show the race is razor thin in the state.
