Vice President Kamala Harris said Tuesday she will be on the 2024 ticket if President Joe Biden chooses to run for re-election.
“As the president said, he intends to run. And when he does, I’ll run with him,” she told reporters aboard the Philippine Coast Guard ship Teresa Magbanua, as she wrapped up her trip to Asia.
Harris declined to answer questions about former President Donald Trump’s announcement last Tuesday that he would seek the White House again in 2024.

“I’m now thinking about what to do in the Indo-Pacific,” she replied when asked if Trump’s presidential run was “good for the country.” “Thanks for the question,” she added.
Harris was also asked if she believed the Democratic ticket could beat Trump a second time, a question she ignored.
She praised the track record of the Biden administration, telling reporters, “I have no doubts about the strength of the work we’ve done over the past two years.”
“We have provided unprecedented assistance to the American people during the pandemic,” she said. “We passed an infrastructure law that many are talking about – we did.”
Trump periodically scheduled an “infrastructure week” at the White House, but it became a running joke because it usually coincided with some scandalous revelation.
Harris also praised the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act — which includes prescription drug and climate initiatives — which Democrats pushed through the Senate in August ahead of the midterm elections.
During the same banter, which took place before she and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff boarded Air Force Two bound for Los Angeles, she vowed not to go down the campaign trail again for Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock.
“I haven’t made a decision yet… I’m actually still trying to figure out what I’m going to do tomorrow,” she said.
Former President Barack Obama plans to vote for Warnock on December 1, as the Georgia Democrat faces another runoff election.
Neither Warnock nor Trump-backed Republican Herschel Walker got above the 50 percent plus one threshold to win the Senate seat outright in the November election, so they will run again on the ballot next month.
