A former Trump adviser claims Kamala Harris will become a Supreme Court justice if she fails to take on the ex-president.
Richard Grenell, who served as director of national intelligence under Trump, predicted an “open contest for the presidency” on X.
The 57-year-old said: ‘If [Harris] If that fails, Justice Sotomayor will be forced to resign to make way for Kamala, and an open race for the presidency could then ensue.’

Sotomayor, 70, has been asked to step down, lest she follow in the footsteps of liberal Ruth Bade Ginsburg, who died in 2020 at age 87 while in office.
Ginsburg’s death made it possible for then-President Trump to consolidate a six-to-three Conservative majority with the appointment of Amy Coney-Barrett.

If Harris, the former California attorney general, could bolster the ranks of Supreme Court justices, this would be prevented.
Grenell said NBC News Sunday night, after President Biden announced he was dropping out of the race, he said he was “thrilled” that the 81-year-old was endorsing Harris.
The former ambassador to Germany told the magazine: ‘We are very excited about the fact that he supported Kamala.
“As we know, she was never screened in California. Kamala Harris is a product of this entire system. She is very left-wing, unscreened, untested.”
While Grenell clearly hopes the Democratic nominee fails, she has already gained a significant number of prominent Democratic supporters.
His former boss has also said he thinks Harris will be even easier to beat than Biden.
Biden announced on Sunday afternoon that he will not run for re-election and endorsed his vice president.
According to the New York Times, national polls show Harris trailing Biden by 48 percent to 46 percent.
That’s an improvement over Biden’s scores in the same polls, which showed Trump beating him 47-44.

Left-leaning journalist Glenn Greenwald, who opposes Biden, called it “strange and wrong” that Biden had not addressed the nation about his decision.

There is no suggestion or evidence that Biden has any health issues. Such an illness would pose a major national security concern and would be made public quickly so that a temporary replacement could be announced.
Concerns about his health have increased after his younger brother said this was a reason for his resignation.
Frank Biden told CBS: “I’m incredibly proud of my brother. Selfishly, I’m going to give him back to enjoy whatever time we have left.”
That choice of words led to speculation that Biden has a secret illness that he has not disclosed.
A leading Parkinson’s disease specialist has visited the White House several times this year, though officials have insisted Biden is in good health.
In her first public appearance since dropping out of the race, Harris showered Biden with praise after he endorsed her as the Democratic nominee.
She told attendees at an event for the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s championship teams at the White House that he was “recovering well.”
Harris said she first met him through his son Beau, whom Harris worked with when they were both attorneys general in Delaware and California.
Harris told the crowd: “We are deeply grateful to him for his service to our country.”
