Kamala Harris laughs off Fox News reporter who asks if she will ever do an interview as the Democratic presidential candidate

Vice President Kamala Harris laughed at Fox News reporter Peter Doocy when he asked for an interview late Thursday night after her speech at the Democratic National Convention.

“Hi Peter. How are you?” Harris replied after Doocy called her name.

“Congratulations,” Doocy said before asking, “Are you ready for your Fox interview?

“I’m working on it!” Harris said with a laugh.

As chief White House correspondent for Fox News, Doocy drew anger and scorn from Democrats for testing President Joe Biden with uncomfortable questions that resonated with his audience.

Harris spoke briefly to the White House press corps as she left the arena after her speech.

When other reporters asked how she was feeling, Harris said, “I feel good! Looking forward to tomorrow.”

“Listen, we’ve got 75 days to go, so maybe for better or for worse, that’s who I am,” she added. “That was good. Now we have to move on.”

Harris, as the Democratic presidential candidate, went 33 days without an interview with the press.

Harris spokesman Michael Tyler told CNN’s Jim Acosta that the vice president will likely appear for an interview later this month.

“We will work to engage directly with the voters who will actually decide this election,” he said. “And that will be complete with meetings, with interviews, with press conferences, with all the digital means at our disposal.”

As vice president, Harris struggles with job interviews, trying to avoid awkward questions and resorting to word salad.

Since becoming a presidential candidate, Harris has struggled even during brief conversations with reporters.

In an impromptu response to a question about how she would pay for her proposals, Harris repeated the slogan “return on investment” four times in less than a minute.

Biden also faced criticism during his presidential campaign for ignoring the press and not holding press conferences.
