Kamala Harris campaign boss is grilled by CNN’s Jake Tapper over how he ‘personally got it so wrong’ after devastating election defeat to Donald Trump

Kamala Harris’ campaign boss came under fire on Thursday for “personally” misjudging the election after the Democratic presidential candidate conceded election defeat to Donald Trump.

Speaking on CNN, Harris campaign co-chairman Roberto Garcia was questioned by host Jake Tapper about why the Democratic party lost votes from Latino men to Trump.

Garcia confirmed that Harris “won the Latino vote overall,” but admitted that Democrats had “a lot of work to do with Latino men” after this week’s election results.

But Tapper shot back at the congressman — himself Latino — and asked him, “How did you personally get it so wrong?”

“There’s a Latina producer on my staff from Los Angeles who has been seeing this phenomenon of folk in motion in her community for years. I don’t think she was surprised. I know she wasn’t surprised by what happened. That was you. So, how did you get it so wrong?,” the host continued.

Garcia’s televised grilling comes after newly elected President Trump made an astonishing political comeback after being supported by 46 percent of all Latino voters — the most by any Republican in modern history.

Garcia admitted he was surprised by Harris’ defeat, admitting that he and several colleagues in Congress believed the vice president had consolidated the male Latino vote.

“Look, of course she still won the Latinos overwhelmingly. She won the Latino vote overall, but there is a lot of work to be done with Latino men, and I think we as Democrats need to do something about that.

“I think especially of those of us who are Latinos, those of us who are immigrants like me, who came to this country, who worked hard, whose families worked hard in search of a better life,” he concluded.

Garcia’s television appearance comes after MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough claimed that “racist Hispanics” and “sexist black men” are responsible for Harris’ election loss.

The Morning Joe host made the controversial claim Wednesday while discussing Trump’s landslide victory for the White House.

Speaking to Rev. Al Sharpton, Scarborough – who previously appeared to accept the outcome – said: “Democrats need to be mature and honest.

“And they need to say, ‘Yes, there is misogyny, but it’s not just misogyny among white men…’

“It’s misogyny from Hispanic men, it’s misogyny from black men — things we’ve all talked about — not wanting a woman to lead them.”

Scarborough, an ex-Republican, continued his tirade: “but it’s not just misogyny from Hispanic men, from black men,

‘[There] It could be racial issues with Hispanics not wanting a black female president of the United States.”

“It’s time for Democrats to say … a lot of Hispanic voters have problems with black candidates,” Scarborough said.
